Important safety information:The use of PERI UP Rosett 72 is intendedonly for industrial applications in theconstruction sector as facadescaffolding in accordance withEN 12810 - 1:2003 (intended use).

Only PERI UP original componentscomplete with the manufacturerslabel are to be used. The use of otherproducts and spare parts represents amisapplication with associated safetyrisks.

Any deviation from the standardconfiguration when assembling and/oruse present a potential safety risk andtherefore may only be undertaken aftera separate risk assessment has beencarried out by the scaffolding contractor.

Appropriate measures are to beimplemented regarding operational safetyand stability on the basis of the riskassessment (Extension of the assemblyinstructions as well as safety provisionsduring assembly, e.g. guardrails; proofof stability using draft and designspecifications in accordance withApproval Z-8.1-890 and taking intoaccount EN 12811-1).

Note:Appropriate proof of stability can beordered from PERI, if the risk assessmentand measures deriving from this areavailable. For loads from other load classes, and for wider scaffolding up to 150 cm,proofs of stability have already beenissued which can be ordered from PERI.

These assembly instructions applytogether with Approval Z-8.1-890.

They describe the standard designfor facade scaffold according to theprovisions set down in DIN 4420-1as well as the requirements assystem scaffolding according toEN 12810 and EN 12811.

Deviations from technically-functioninginstructions, especially assemblysequences, require separate static proof.

OverviewThese assembly instructions serve as abasis for the compilation of a building-related assembly instruction by thescaffolding contractor these do nothowever replace this.

The assembly instructions regulate the intended use provide the scaffolding contractor with

guidance for safe assembly, modifications and dismantling

Technical suitabilityPERI UP may only be assembled, modified and dismantled by technicallyskilled scaffolding contractors and sitepersonnel who also possess sufficientskill and experience (hereafter referredto as scaffolding contractor).

Stability requirementsThe scaffolding contractor has toguarantee on site that the bearingreactions of the scaffold indicated inthe Part B of the assembly instructionscan be reliably carried in the foundationand anchorage.

The load-bearing capacity of the fixingmaterial between the wall ties andanchorage must be verified for theanchoring forces. Proof must beprovided by official approval, staticcalculation or test loading accordingto a recognized method.

Load-distributing support, e.g. planks,is to be placed accordingly to matchthe ground conditions. If several layersare required, planks are to be arrangedcrosswise.

Condition of the materialThe material is to be regularly checkedfor any signs of damage particularlybefore any assembly takes place.Damaged components must beexchanged immediately on site andmay no longer be used.

Scaffold tubes and couplers formounting and bracingSteel tubes and couplers are to beused in the standard configuration asanchors and as bracing for the latticegirders. Steel tubes with a 48.3 mmexternal diameter and at least 3.2 mmwall thickness according to DIN 4427as well as couplers according toEN 74 with appropriate markings areto be used.

Bolted couplers must be tightenedwith a moment of 50 Nm (correspondsto a force of 20 kg with a 25 cm leverarm). Wedge couplers are to besecurely fitted using a 500 g hammer.

Personal protective equipmentagainst falls from a heightWhen using personal protectiveequipment against falls from a height, all valid standards and safetyregulations are to be taken intoconsideration by the scaffoldingcontractor.

Currently, the following are of particularimportance:

DIN EN 354:Personal protective equipmentagainst falls from a height; Lanyards

DIN EN 355: ... Energy absorbers DIN EN 360: ... Retractable type

fall arresters DIN EN 361: ... Full body harness DIN EN 362: ... Connectors DIN EN 363: ... Fall arrest systems

Availability of the assemblyinstructionsThese assembly instructions, togetherwith the assembly instructions fromthe scaffolding contractor, must bemade available for the entire period, from the beginning of the assemblywork through to the end of dismantlingand including the service life at thepoint of use (see EN 12811 - 1:2003(D) Clause 8)

Additional regulations:The scaffolding contractor mustobserve all valid laws and safetyregulations regarding assembly anduse.

Currently, the following is of particularimportance: Council Directive 89/655/EEC of

the European Parliament concerningthe minimum safety and healthrequirements for the use of workequipment by workers at work.

    Signs

If certain parts of the scaffolding arenot ready for use - in particular duringassembly, alteration work anddismantling - a warning sign restrictedaccess must be clearly displayed, seeSign 1. In addition, it must be madeclear by appropriate physical meansthat the scaffold is not complete whichprevents unauthorized access to thedanger zone.

    Sign 1

After handover, the scaffolding is to bemarked in such a way that the intendeduse is clearly visible e.g. installingSign 2 at the scaffold access points.

The signs do not replace theinspection record!

    UJB 38-50/30(red handle)

    UJB 38-80/55(yellow handle)

    A1 Erectingthe base

Erecting the scaffold must follow thesequence described below!

    A1.1 Load distributing base area

Always begin erecting at the highestpoint, preferable at an internal corner.

Lay the ledgers UH 3 down todetermine the length of the surface tobe scaffolded. This will fix the distancebetween the adjustable baseplatesUJB 1a (for loads see Part B).

The scaffold must only be erected withload distribution plates on ground orstructures capable of withstanding allimposed loads!

    Settlement must be avoided!

A1.2 Adjustable base plates UJB,base plates UJP.

Position adjustable base platesUJB 1a or base plates UJP 1b atthe ends of the ledgers UH 3.

Adjustable base plates UJB 1a withyellow and red handles can beextended a maximum of 55 and30 cm respectively.

Adjustable base plates TR 38-70/50 1ccan be used instead of adjustable baseplates UJB 1a. They can be extendedto 47cm.

A1.3 Changes in height andsloping surfaces.

Steps, slopes and changes in heightcan be overcome using longer verticalstandards UVR.

    A1.4 Collar UVB

Place the collar UVB 24 2 over theadjustable base UJB 1.

This allows a scaffolder to work aloneup to a height of 6.50 m.Place collar UVB 24 2 and adjustablebase plates UJB 1 at the requireddistance from the wall (deck to buildingdistance must not exceed 30 cm)

Alternatively vertical standards UVR 5can be fitted directly on the adjustablebase plates UJB 1. This reduces thepermissible extension length in theanchor patterns (section B4) by 26 cm.

    A1.5 Ledger UH,Decking Transom UHD

Form a base frame by connecting thecollar UVB 24 2 transversely with thedecking transom UHD 4 andlongitudinally with the ledger UH 3.

Fit the decking transom UHD 4 withthe red marker to the outside.

Ensure all ledgers UH 3 and deckingtransoms UHD 4 are level by adjustingthe adjustable base plates UJB 1.

Then securely fix all the wedges usinga 500 g hammer.

Place steel deck UDS 7 in a deckingtransom UHD 4 as an assembly aid tocheck squareness (see next page fordeck assembly).

The decks used at the base are an aidto erection only, they can be removedlater. This does not apply to bays whereaccess decks with ladders UAL arefitted, in these bays two steel decksshould be fitted to support the ladder.

    A2.1 Vertical Standards UVR

Insert vertical standards UVR 5 intothe collars UVB 24 2.

The joints in the inner and outer UVRstandard 5 must be staggered!

PERI recommends using UVR 200 onthe inside and UVR 300 on the outside and then continuing with the samelength (either UVR 200 or 400).

Depending on the supplementarycomponents fitted, additional deckingtransoms may need to be fixed to thefirst rosette on the standard UVR.Alternatively base frame UVF 124 maybe used. (see section B4)

A2.2 Decking Transom UHD andSteel Decks UDS

For the next level fit the deckingtransom UHD 4 in the rosette of thevertical standard UVR 5 with the redmarking to the outer standard. Securethe wedges.(maximum spacing betweenlevels = 2.00 m)

Fit steel decks UDS 7 by lining up thecentre lug with the cut-out in thedecking transom UHD 4. To preventdecks lifting off slide the steel deckUDS 7 towards the building as far asit will go (the same applies to all decks).

Decks have a structural function and, therefore, must be installed across thefull width of the scaffold!

    Advantage:System deckingPosition slide ready!

Incorrectly fitted or unsecure deckswill rock on the longitudinal axis whenwalked on, and is an indication to thescaffolders that the deck is notfunctioning properly.

Every possible step must be taken tominimise the possibility of men ormaterials falling during the erection ofthe scaffold.

    Transport according to Germanregulations.

For scaffolds with a top platform heightgreater than 8.00 m (deck height abovefixing level), scaffold hoists must beused. The use of a rope and wheel ispermitted for this purpose.

However, if the scaffold to be erectedis not longer than 10.00 m, it ispermitted to erect to a height of14.00 m without the use of a hoist.

In those bays where materials are tobe transported manually, both ledgersUH must be fitted as side protection. When transporting material manually,a scaffolder must be positioned oneach scaffolding level.

    Guardrail fitted at base level!

If the material is stacked in each bay,the whole team can move from bayto bay supporting the erector withmaterial in advance.

A complete scaffold level is nowready!

    A6.2 Erection sequence

The erection sequence begins in thebay in which the material is beingraised.

    The procedure is as follows:

    1. Fit handrailWhen setting foot on the next scaffoldlevel, a ledger UH 3 must be fitted toserve as a handrail.

Before moving into the adjoining bayfit the ledger UH 3. Fit both ends ofthe ledger UH 3 into the rosette onthe outside standard UVR 5 andsecurely fix the wedges.

Ledgers UH 3, which are fitted asguardrails, have a structural functionand therefore must be installed for thefull elevation of the scaffold. There arecases where the ledger UH 3 isintermittent and still has a structuralfunction please see B4 anchor details.

    2. Completion of the side protection

In every bay, fit the second ledgerUH 3 and the toe board UPT 16.

Place the pins on the toeboardUPT 16 into the holes in the top plateof the decking transom UHD 4.At the end of the scaffold fit the verticalstandard UVR 5 and the end guardrailUPX 17.

From the second scaffold levelupwards diagonal braces are notrequired due to the use of ledgersUH 3.

On the top level at the end of thescaffold guardrail posts UVP 8 may beused instead of top standards UVH 6.

A7.1 Modifying and refitting systemdecks in individual bays

The integrated protection against liftingallows individual decks to be removedand refitted anywhere on the scaffold.

    This allows:

individual bays to be removed or

openings left during erection tobe closed

In bays which are left open, endguardrail frames UPX 17 should befitted either side of the plannedopening.

As end protection, two ledgersUH 72 3 and a toe board UPT canbe used instead of the end guardrailUPX 17.

Compatibility with PERI UP T 72

The PERI UP Rosett 72 modularscaffold system can easily becombined with PERI UP T 72 facadescaffolding due to the coordinatedsystem design and dimensions of thecomponents.

The integrated protection against liftingof the decks eliminates any risk oftripping at the interchange betweenthe modular and frame variants andno additional components are requiredto prevent lifting. Thus any combinationeither vertically or horizontally ispossible.

PERI UP T 72 and PERI UP Rosette 72must be erected according to theofficial assembly and use instructions.

    B4.1 General

On the following pages variousanchor patterns, for use on PERI UPRosett 72, are shown for differentcombinations of components i.e.inside console brackets, fans etc. forboth unclad scaffolds and scaffoldswith nets or tarpaulins.

The diagrams indicate the anchortype, position and number togetherwith any additional ledgers/transomsand braces as well as maximum jackextension for different combinationsof supplementary components.

There are two basic arrangements:Basic arrangement 1 (page 48)For unclad scaffolds andNetted scaffolds in front of closedfacadesBasic arrangement 2 (page 64)For netted scaffolds in front of openfacades andTarpaulin clad scaffolds

    Please note:

All anchors, diagonals and horizontalledgers in the basic arrangements(shown in grey) must be fitted.

When fitting supplementarycomponents additional anchors, diagonals and horizontal ledgers(shown in black) must also be fitted.

Where console brackets are shownexternally they may only be fitted onone level but that level may be atany height.

If the scaffold is erected withoutcollars UVB 24 the maximum jackextension, as shown in the diagrams, must be reduced by 26 cm.

Where the diagram shows 2 deckingtransoms UHD, one 50 cm abovethe other, a base frame UVF may besubstituted.

Application:The scaffold, for the appropriateload class, may be used inaccordance with the minimumrequirements of the EuropeanSafety and Health Directive for theuse of work equipment by workersat work (89/655/EEC).

The following applies to allanchor patterns:Scaffolding to the standardconfiguration with a maximumheight of 24.00 m and max. jackextension.3.00 m bay lengthsLoading up to scaffold group 3(2.00 kN/m2) with working load onone platform level only.Scaffold in front of open, where upto 60% of the face area containsopenings, or closed facades.

For unclad scaffolds in front ofclosed facades the followingvariations are allowed at theend bays.

Anchor loads and support reactionscan be taken from Table B2.

In the basic arrangement 1two single wall ties and onetriangulated anchor in place of threewall ties every 5th bay.

    or

In the basic arrangement 2, twotriangulated anchors can beused in place of three wall ties every5th bay. This means that the plan bracecan be omitted.
