Past simple Past simple refers to complete actions in

the past Ex. Peter spent a lot of money yesterday. *This action started “yesterday” And finished the same day.

Affirmative sentences Verbs in past. Two types of verbs:

regulars (-ed) and irregulars.

Ex. A regular verb is play = played and a irregular one is write=wrote.

Negative sentences In the negative form,

we should use DIDN´T for all the pronouns.

Don't forget to write the verb in infinitive.

Interrogative sentences

As in the negative form, you should write the verb in infinitive.

Past continuous We use past continuous when we want to

refer to an action in the past that haven't finished.

Ex.She was playing tennis

Past continuous the order of a sentence in past continuous

is quite similar to that of the present continuous.

The differences are: the tense of the verb be (is-pres, was-past) and the time the sentences refers to.

She was living in Brazil (past continuous)

-Past. Continuous:he was playing. (an hour ago)

-Pres. Continuous:he is doing the homework. (now)
