Thank you for your enthusiasm and dedication to breast cancer
awareness and prevention, and to the Medline Pink Glove Dance
(PGD) video competition.
The Pink Glove Dance reflects Medline’s commitment to saving lives
through raising awareness and funds for early detection of breast cancer.
Some walk. Some run. We dance. For the past six years Medline and its
supporters have been dancing for breast cancer awareness.
In this 2016 PGD launch packet, you will find tools and ideas to get

Your first step is to get approval to participate from your facility
or organization.

Create buzzOnce you have approval, it’s time to get your co-workers excited!
The Medline PGD video competition isn’t a dance fad that’s going
to fade away; it is a international movement that helps build
awareness, share joy and raise funds to eradicate one of the most
commonly diagnosed cancers among women worldwide.
Tips
• Find champions within your facility to organize
and share enthusiasm.
• Send emails and reach out to colleagues on social
media asking them to join the competition.
• Use posters and logos from the toolkit to spread
the word about your plans.
• Share questions, comments and excitement on social
media using the official hashtag, #PinkGloveDance.

Find a partnerYour official PGD entry must feature two organizations—yours
and your community partner. You can work with any number
of organizations on your video and fundraising.
Tips
• Reach out to a local school, police or fire department, social
service agency, sports team, club, sorority, fraternity—anyone
who’s ready to dance and support the cause with you.
• Your community partner can be large or small, public
or private, health-related or not.
• Choose a community partner who is enthusiastic, ready
to do some work and have some fun for a good cause.

Raise moneyEach PGD team is required to raise a minimum of $2,000 for
a breast cancer charity of their choice. The charity you select must
be involved in breast cancer research, support, education, or care.
Details are in the Official Rules.

We have listed just a few fundraising ideas below, but there are
many more included in the Fundraising Ideas document link to the
right. Share your own ideas on Facebook and Twitter, using hashtag
#PinkGloveDance.

Make your videoHere’s the fun part! Note these rules for entering the competition,
and double-check this list before you make your video:
Essay: Tell us in under 150 words about your inspiration to support
breast cancer awareness through the creativity of a PGD video.
Video length: Your video must be no longer than 90 seconds.
Music: You must use one of the PGD officially licensed songs in
your video. If you use a song that is not on the list, your entry will be
disqualified. See the pinkglovedance.com website or check Medline
Breast Cancer Awareness Facebook page for the list of songs.
Dancing: At some point during your video, there must be dancing
while wearing pink gloves. It is not required for the entire video.
Medline provides a free box of pink gloves to every PGD team.
Tips
• Tell your breast cancer awareness story in words, video,
pictures and sound.
• Try dialogue, spoken word, pantomime, skits—PGD embraces
every art form.
• Make us laugh, make us cry, make us think. Surprise us with
your stories.
• Build hype and use the #PinkGloveDance hashtag to share
behind-the-scenes shots of the making and planning of your video
on social media. The PGD team might share your posts on the
official PGD social channels, so get creative. Hint: We like selfies.
• Visit pinkglovedance.com and check out the 2015 videos to see
how others have participated in the PGD competition.

Submit contestant entryYou’ve partnered with your community, raised funds, danced,
made your video and told your story. Now it’s time to submit your
video to the Pink Glove Dance team.
Before submitting all of the necessary requirements to enter the official
Medline Pink Glove Dance video competition, here is a checklist
to help you:
• Received appropriate approvals
• Mobilized participation from co-workers
• Selected a Community Partner
• Fundraised for a breast cancer awareness charity
• Received one box of Medline pink gloves
• Choreographed a Pink Glove Dance
• Created a 90 second Pink Glove Dance video using
a PGD officially licensed song
• Wrote the 150 essay about the inspiration to promote breast
cancer awareness through the Pink Glove Dance video competition
• Identified a breast cancer charity to receive the prize donation
Now you are ready to submit your entry as described in the Official Rules!
• Upload the 90 second Pink Glove Dance video to pinkglovedance.com
• Email the 150 word essay to [email protected]. Put the
name of your facility in the subject line.
• Email verification/receipt of a minimum $2,000 donation to a breast
cancer charity to [email protected]. Put the name
of your facility in the subject line.
NOTE: : Contest entries can be submitted two weeks prior to submission deadline (July 25 - August 5). Anything received after August 5 will not be eligible for contest consideration.

Get votesIt’s simple, right? The videos receiving the most online votes win. In order
to win, the video needs votes. In order to get votes, people must know how
to vote, when to vote and where to vote. Might not be as simple as it seems!
So, to help, “Get Out The Vote,” here are some TIPS!
Tips
• Voting opens on September 12 so it’s best to alert everyone and anyone
you know BEFORE voting begins so they are ready to vote on day 1.
• Use social media, traditional media, email, posters, flyers, word-of-mouth
so everyone in the community knows how to vote, when to vote and
where to vote.
• Host an official Pink Glove Dance Watch-the-Video Party. After viewing,
make sure everyone goes online to vote!
• Set up voting kiosks in the lobby or cafeteria.
• Encourage co-workers to share the Pink Glove Dance video link on
Facebook, Twitter, and email. Make sure they tell their families and friends
how vote. Remember, viewing isn’t voting!
