OFFSHORE AND ONSHORE NEWS SPRING 2006
On 11th March this year, the first of three topside modules being
constructed under a contract with Clough Projects, began the
process of mobilising the completed structures for departure from
our Jebel Ali Yard, to be loaded onto an ocean going barge for
delivery to the project site located offshore Mumbai, India. The
successful load-out of the Panna PH Topside, which weighed over
1,050 tonnes, took place on 12th of March when the unit was
transferred to the barge in Jebel Ali Port. Once in position on
the barge the Sea Fastening / Tie Down steelwork was installed
and the topside handed over to the client. The PH topside left on
March 14th.
The second topside STD, which is located in the Tapti Field
weighing just over 750 tonnes was transferred from the yard on
March 21st and loaded onto the second ocean going barge on
March 22nd. Sea Fastening/ Tie Down steelwork was complet-
ed over two days and the topside handed over to the
client on March 24th following which the STD topside left
Jebel Ali Port.
The third and final topside, Panna PJ, again weighing around
1,050 tonnes is forecast to transfer from the yard to the quayside
on 3rd April and be loaded onto an ocean going barge on April
4th. Sea Fastening/ Tie down steelwork will then be
completed with hand over to the client and departure expected
on April 6th.

In this first period of 2006 we have maintained the desired levels of planned turnover and our order book for the year is full, with all divisions working at full capacity in support of an ever increasing International client base.
Recent repeat awards from India underline the attraction and advantages of doing business with our company for the longer term and in client/ contractor partnership.
In a similar vane our senior service Sharjah yard continues to witness higher than ever record-ed rig activity with the number of visitors to the quay at an all time high and a sharp increase in the call for overseas project assistance.
In general we are now engaged in ever more technically demanding and deadline driven. project challenges and it remains at the centre of our mission to better understand the chal-lenges our client’s face in an effort to realize and best satisfy our joint overall business needs.
It is gratifying indeed for us to be currently engaged in high profile construction not only for Middle East deployments, but also for cutting edge FPSO developments in Brazil and the Gulf of Mexico.
We strive to maintain the highest standards of service and support to our clients and we are committed to the long haul expansion and development of our Company. This reflects the con-fidence that we have for the future for our Company and in what the region has to offer. This confidence is supported by the fact that we are working with likeminded clients who share this confidence and vision, no just in Lamprell, but in what can be offered by the United Arab Emirates.

Award of British Gas India (BGEPIL) NRPOD Decks Fabrication
Underlining our commitment to continue a course that includes the
construction of offshore structures and minimal facilities platforms,
we are delighted to announce the most recent contract award of
the NRPOD platform decks fabrication for British Gas Exploration
and Production India Ltd. (BGEPIL) in alliance with JV partners,
Reliance Industries and Indian state oil company ONGC. .
The project includes the procurement, fabrication, load out and
sea fastening of the NRPOD development MTA Wellhead Platform
Deck and the TCPP Process Platform Decks (East and West).
The project is weighing in at circa 2000te for the two main decks
respectively with the MTA deck, a smaller facility
weighing in at 650te.
The decision to award the contract to Lamprell was in part based
on our record of performance commitment and ability to deliver
the structures pre monsoon 2007. This award comes hot on the
heels of the Panna PH/PH/ and Tapti STD deck load outs built in
the first instance for Clough Contractors PTY. who were working
for and on behalf of the same client British Gas.
Front end engineering including detailed design for the NRPOD
project has been performed by Ranhill Worley Malaysia.
The basis for positive dialogue and exchange of information
between Ranhill Worley, and the Lamprell construction team has
3
now been developed with a delegation from
Malaysia currently on site at Jebel Ali.
In placing the NRPOD
fabrication contract with Lamprell, BGEPIL
have recognized the advantages of splitting
the EPIC model to ensure timely delivery,
prime yard capacity and competitive tender.
We are confident and committed to
achieving this challenging load out date,
and we congratulate our clients British Gas
Exploration and Production India Ltd. for
their pro-active approach to project
execution, stated Neil Millar, Lamprell
Manager of Projects.

The Golfinho project is now reaching mid term. Engineering
issues that initially hampered the projects progress are now being
overcome and the main pancakes for the first four modules are
now completed and the fabrication of the superstructures that
house the auxiliary equipment and pipe work systems, are in
full production.
This next phase of the project will see pipe fabrication hitting full
tilt where we estimate approximately 750tes of pipe fabrication,
in Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, Duplex, Super Duplex, LTCS,
X52, X65 and CuNi, will pass through the pipe shop within an
intensive twelve week period.
The completed modules will be delivered to Dubai Dry-docks
and integrated into the FPSO Vitoria during the summer months
with Lamprell providing their support to the project during the
integration phase, working closely with our client Saipem.

Kashagan FGC Barges – March 2006 Since our last report at the turn of the year, the fabrication
and assembly of the three Kashagan barges and Flash Gas
Compression Topside Process Modules at Jebel Ali has moved on
considerably and we are now over 60% complete, with the com-
pletion of barges 3 & 4 scheduled for late August with barge 16
following in March of 2007.
The hulls of barges 3 & 4 are now structurally complete and
we have installed the pipe racks, equipment modules and local
equipment rooms.
In the middle of March we took receipt of the gas turbine com-
pressors from Siemens. These have now been lifted and posi-
tioned on to barges 3 & 4.
With progress on multiple work fronts being a feature of our
daily activities, the workforce is substantial and heavily involved
on all fronts. This includes our retained scaffolding and painting
contractors, architectural contractors, a passive fire protection
team and of course the visiting site team from Siemens, all
working closely together with our own construction team headed
by Dave Kennedy and Amin Abbas.
Each barge is 95m long by 16m wide and will weigh over
3,000te at completion. They will be loaded out onto a transpor-
tation barge for a dry tow to the Black Sea and then placed in
the water for a wet tow through the Volga Don canal into the
Caspian Sea. The canal is only 17m wide, the ultimate reasoning
behind the design dimensions of the barges.
Once through the canal and into Kazakhstan waters, they will
be jacked out of the water onto pre-installed piles and mated
with the other 19 barges that form the overall Phase 1 of the
Kashagan Offshore Complex.
During April we will have achieved a major milestone by
expending over 1 million man-hours without a Lost Time Incident.
Both SBM and Lamprell will recognise this major achievement by
awarding an array HSE incentives to the construction teams.
On any project, each and every employee and sub contractor
has a part to play in the successful completion and the Kashagan
project is no different.
The Lamprell Management would like to take this opportunity to
thank the entire Kashagan workforce for their constant dedica-
tion in bringing the project to its current level of completion in an
exceptionally safe manner.

Ku Maloob Zap (KMZ) FPSO Modules
Awarded in October of last year the KMZ FPSO Process Modules
and more importantly the distinctive Bergesen green modules are
now taking shape on the Jebel Ali skyline. Working directly for
Kanfa-Grenlan Framnaes Norway, who is in turn executing this
Pemex project for Bergesen Worldwide, the four topsides mod-
ules consisting of module M10 separation, M30 flare, M45 fuel
gas Amine treatment module and the gas compression unit M60
have gained and maintained significant progress.
At this time, M10, M30 and M45 are structurally completed and
painted. M60 is currently under painting and will be completed
by March 22nd. We are now moving into a phase of pipe
support and pipe installation on all units and the fitting of
instrumentation cable tray and ladder has in addition now
commenced. The separators are progressing and all 6 scrubber
units are due to arrive on site in the coming days.
The first two modules are scheduled for delivery on May 23rd
with final completion on the balance of the modules no later
than July 19th.
The progress has been witnessed first hand by multiple
delegations from both Bergesen Worldwide and Pemex Mexico
over the past few months, with all of our visitors exalting the Jebel
Ali facility the quality of the work and the HSE awareness of the
Ku Maloob Zaap collective project team.

Lamprell Project Managers
A chance photo opportunity presented itself as we were going to print with Doug Gibbs one of our Jebel Ali quantity surveyors capturing for posterity the Project Managers all in one place at the same time, certainly a Jebel Ali first.
Taking this a stage further we’ve decided to include a snap shot of the PM’s from the three facilities likewise in the same place at the same time making this a company wide first.
We recognize that things at Lamprell get done at the coal face on a daily basis where a huge contribution is made by all of our dedicated staff.
As a start point however and by way of introduction, we would like to give due recognition to the Project Managers that take the daily project tasks in hand.

Enter Rowan Drilling
After the much publicized award of a multiple rig contract from Saudi Aramco, Rowan Drilling mobilized the Rowan California, Arch Rowan, Charles Rowan and Rowan Midtown from their long time Gulf Coast zone of operations, arriving in the Middle East in March 2006.
Preparations for Saudi deployment commenced in Pascagoula prior to departure with a Rowan riding crew mobilized to continue the work whilst en route. In an effort to meet fully with the requirements of Saudi Aramco Schedule G. some additional carry over work was identified and as a result a major decision was made by Rowan to offload the fleet at Lamprell in advance of the actual field deployment.
The four rigs were accommodated in both Sharjah and the Lamprell facilities in Al Hamriya, and a completion scope was hurriedly developed to include painting of the hull bottoms, minor upgrades to the existing accommodations, piping modification and deluge system, refits to the drill floor and upgrade of operational equipment. Each of the four rigs now boasts a purpose built Mosque and the installation of the first vertical flare booms measuring in at 90ft (30meters) each, previously not seen in the Middle East region.
With military precision the Rowan crews arrived 24 hours in advance of the actual rig arrivals. Realizing the benefit our Lamprell local knowledge and track record in Schedule G. compliance Rowan immediately set about developing an execu-tion plan for each rig in conjunction with the Lamprell project team led by Andy Edmonson.
Moving from rig to rig to complete the common work scopes the potential for delay was minimized and a production mentality was quickly developed.
An excellent working relationship and professional bond has now been established with the Rowan team a previously unfamiliar client to us.
The four rigs are now deployed and we wish our newly found friends and clients Rowan Drilling every success in this high profile Middle East venture.

The Gulf 3 has now been moved to its new location
alongside the main yard quay in preparation for
final completion.
The habitation milestone for the new quarters was set
for February 2006. This was achieved and the rig
crew are now living onboard and by all accounts,
enjoying the new surroundings.
Replacement guide liners and a fifth round of pin-
ions, as well as the MCC and jacking system have
now all been installed. In addition, the preload tanks
are completed and coated in readiness for float and
trim ballasting. This as a pre-cursor to the spud can
retraction and strengthening.
The existing legs have been modified, extended and
blasted and surface coating preparation is under-
way. Erection is now planned for early April.
An additional array of solids control equipment is
now being installed in the shaker house extension
area, and the revamped derrick after some fine
tuning, is now erected. The works in other key com-
ponents of the rigs control system are now fully com-
missioned and all safety equipment is now installed
in readiness for a final deadweight survey, cantilever
weigh-in and inclination test prior to sail away on
the 4.th May 2006. Starting life in 1977 as the
Sonat Aquarius this Le Turneau Mod 82 jack up unit
has re-invented itself 3 times over.
The rig changed hands in 1997 and was converted
to an accommodation unit and renamed the
Mansal Muna.
Once again the rig was sold and converted in to
the early production facility ESP1 for Swire in the
year 2000.
The GDI Gulf3 now enters the fray as a high
specification 350ft cantilever enhanced capability
drilling unit.
This Mega category conversion program has been
steered throughout by Jimmy Hyde Lamprell Project
Gulf Drilling International Gulf 3
Manager and the work scope now stands as another Lamprell model for the
upgrade of existing drilling units proven to be suitable candidates for life
extension.
We are confident that under Gulf Drilling International’s
operational management the Gulf 3 will go on to achieve great things in
Qatari waters for the foreseeable future.
The picture shows the Gulf3 jacked up and locked off in
preparation for leg extension installation.

The award of the NDC rig Junana featured in our last edition
and the upgrade scope for this rig truly is a “major league”
undertaking. In this regard the Junana will in all probability be
the largest project to feature in our Sharjah facility in the current
year.
The rig will be converted from a Hitachi slot type to a cantilever
beam rig, with a new bow sponson and a slot fill in for
additional space and stability. This will require significant
reinforcement to the hull and longitudinal bulkheads to support
the resultant greater loads.
In addition the rig will be completely re-powered with new
engines, SCR and MCC gear, a 3rd mud pump will be added
and additional machinery and drilling equipment, free issued by
the Client, will be integrated to bring Junana into the realms of
enhanced drilling capability.
The accommodation will also be completely replaced with a
new 100 man unit, 3 new lifeboats will be installed along with
a replacement helideck in aluminum. All upgrades designed to
improve the quality of life and the overall safety aboard the rig.
To the benefit of the overall project a longer lead in period has
allowed for the purchase of critical path equipments in advance
of the actual construction phase as well as the development of
the pre-engineering packages and documents approvals.
Built originally to meet the requirements of class by the American
Bureau of shipping the rig is now operated under the auspices of
Germanischer Lloyd.
A project kick off meeting was held in February 2006 to coincide
with the rigs arrival in Sharjah, attended by a delegation headed
by Mr. Abdulrahman A. Ba-Majboor General Manager National
Drilling Company Abu Dhabi.
In his opening address, Mr. Abdulrahman A. Ba-Majboor took
this opportunity to underline the commitment to the rig integrity
and assessment program (RIAP) as this now forms the basis of
NDC thinking on the planned upgrade and refurbishment of the
additional assets in their offshore fleet.
Junana is the second unit in the NDC RIAP program and a huge
advantage can now be gained from the application of earlier
lessons learned such as the pre engineering approvals and
advance material and equipment orders mentioned earlier.
“We are privileged indeed to welcome NDC back to Lamprell in
Sharjah with our guarantee that the Junana will depart on com-
pletion as scheduled as a best in class drilling unit” stated Peter
Whitbread Chief Executive Officer during the welcome.
The upgrade team is being headed by Mr. Prakash Thomas, the
NDC nominated Project Manager and his opposite number from
Lamprell Project Manager Tony Wilson.
The works are scheduled to take 260 days from date of arrival.
This will include 2 weeks of sea trials offshore Abu Dhabi with
the Lamprell Project team in attendance. We look forward to
mapping the progress with our readership as the project gains
a head of steam.

Recent Awards - GSP Rig Jupiter
Lamprell have recently signed a contract for a major upgrade of
the GSP Rig Jupiter.
Having completed successful cantilever conversions on three of
the sister rigs Lamprell are presented as a natural choice for this
familiar client.
In this case however, the Jupiter represents a different challenge
as the rig will remain in the Black Sea whilst the fabrication of
the cantilever module is taking place in Sharjah. Once
completed the module will be shipped to the Victor Lenac ship-
yard in Croatia for integration where under Lamprell supervision
the Jupiter will undergo upgrade to the solids control package
and a general refurbishment program.
This initiative is the second of its kind and is being conducted in
co-operation with Mack Engineering Croatia who will themselves
play and active role in the overall project management.
"We are very excited about this development which provides us
with an opportunity to serve our existing clients who have
drilling rigs in the Mediterranean region” stated Kevin Isles, Vice
President Lamprell Sharjah.
GSP Rig Atlas
Featuring in our last edition as a recent award, the GSP rig
Atlas is now well underway. The conversion of the slot design of
the Atlas to a cantilever design is our major focus at this time.
Concurrently the 49ft leg extensions are being prepared.
The five existing engines are now being replaced with Caterpillar
3512’s. and a new SCR. has been ordered. The cabling will be
managed in a purpose built, Cavotec supplied drag chain system.
In conjunction with the engine change out, a new CAT 3512 emer-
gency generator will be installed, along with a 12 inch exhaust
system as well as the associate piping for the engine change out.
Other works include the relocation of a Koomey unit and the
replacement of all stainless steel accumulator piping. Currently
under consideration is the additional painting of the hull, main
deck and side shells, accommodation and jack houses
currently extended scopes on option.
Architecturally, a third and fourth level of accommodation will
be created via a structural extension, with outfitting and expan-
sion of the existing POB for client office and living space.
The cranes will be changed out for National 1000 series
hydraulic cranes with an additional National crane to be
designed and installed on the starboard aft jack house.
Work is in progress on the new plated, zero pollution top deck
for the helideck and this will feature escape ways on the under-
side and a new helicopter re-fuelling system.
Once again GSP are working to a demanding schedule that we
are confident we can meet. On completion the Atlas is destined
for its first regional project in Iranian waters in May 2006.
After this GSP will be actively pursuing contract opportunities for
the Atlas both in Iran and Saudi markets.

Nabors Rig 692 /691
The work scope was to remove all of the cranes for refurbishment
and repair. The rig had suffered considerable under hull damage
leading to the removal and replacement of corroded bulkheads
which proved to be a demanding task due to the unusual design
of the rig as the underside bulkheads and hull feature a corrugated
design.
The rig is an accommodation unit with capacity to house 400
people. As a consequence the other scopes that were introduced
focused greatly on making life as comfortable as possible for the
“residents” onboard during the offshore stay. This included
refurbishing the existing air conditioning units, chiller units,
stainless steel manifolds for the hot water system and the added
load testing of all lifeboats.
This was followed by the successful completion of an inclination test.
After a period of one month the sister rig Nabors 691 also arrived
at Al Hamriya and being virtually of the same design,
a cloned scope of work is now ongoing.
It is a photographic opportunity indeed as the two rigs were last
seen in each others company on the quayside at Lamprell Sharjah
in 1992
The Nabors rig 692 made a welcome return to Lamprell Sharjah
in this period the first visit since its full conversion from a drilling
unit to an accommodation unit back in 1992 notwithstanding a
short stay in 1998 that featured a much smaller work program.
Never the less on this occasion the 692 is the first rig to visit the
new Lamprell facilities in Al Hamriya and it is fitting that a rig
that has a long association with Lamprell should be the first to
dock here.
Lamprell HSE
HSE Jebel Ali
One ongoing feature of Jebel Ali safety culture is the monthly
incentive awards scheme jointly sponsored by Lamprell and our
resident clients. The March awards set out to recognize
individuals within the office and yard environment who
demonstrated exceptionally safe practices during the course of
their shift or identified and averted a potential incident by the
production of a SOAP card. The scheme also recognizes indi-
viduals who have created a safety credo that can be adopted as
a theme for the given month.

HSE Sharjah
Before the sail away of the rig Trident 8 Lamprell Sharjah in
conjunction with the Transocean Project team were given the
opportunity to celebrate the TO8 winning the EAU rig of the
quarter award, a fourth in a row for the management and crew
of the TO8.
The rig has achieved 1 million man hours without a recordable
incident in the context of the TO8 upgrade project.
“This is a mammoth achievement and we do not know of any
other rig that can boast this record. It is a credit to the Trident 8
team and the commitment of everyone in the Lamprell shipyard
who contributed to this result in the period. Everyone involved
should be justifiably proud of what has been achieved and for
the overall planning and commitment to safe operations” stated
Eddie McLaughlin Operations Manager Transocean West Africa.
Lamprell commitment to improved HSE practice is ongoing and
we consider our continual success to be an appropriate reflection
in our group efforts and activities. As is always the case, we can
ill afford to be complacent in areas of safety and in this regard
we congratulate all of our clients and sub contractors for their
assistance in maintaining this high standard and for adopting
and applying our HSE mission statement to the daily routine.

After a gap of some 18 months, both Noble Drilling and Lamprell
managed to steal the time from their busy schedules to return to
the golf course to do battle for the coveted intercompany trophy.
The match held at the Doha Golf Club was keenly contested and
in a surprise result Lamprell actually manage to secure a draw
and share the honors on the day. This does mean that Noble
retains the trophy for another year but it is felt that a moral
victory has been secured by Lamprell who have traditionally
been well beaten in the past.
The photographs below show the two teams and Charlie Yester
the Noble Captain for the day, being presented with the trophy
by the Lamprell Captain Colin Jones. In true sporting fashion it
was agreed to revisit the course for a rematch sometime later
this year.

Uplifting Investments
Lamprell has recently taken receipt of two new crawler cranes
that are now coached in Lamprell livery and gainfully employed
in the main facilities. The addition of two Manitowoc 999’s gives
us the capability at Jebel Ali to maintain throughput on heavier
modules with the use of the additional 290te crane capacity.
LAMPRELL Oilfield Engineering
Dalma Energy Rig LR10
The Dalma Land rig LR 10 a 2000 HP sling shot arrived earlier in
September 2005 The completed rig has now left the yard to take
up its contract with Saudi Aramco.
Prior to departure the rig has undergone an extensive rebuild
program, which included mast upgrade and extension, to raise
its capacity to 2000HP. and facilitate the installation of a top
drive required by the client.
Likewise the sister Manitowoc 999 crane, is gainfully employed
on the Khalid port quayside in Sharjah in support of heavier rig
related lifts. Our investment in crane-age is set to continue as we
endeavor to secure an additional array of similar mobile units.
The old power pack of caterpillar D 398's were replaced with
3512 units, and the SCR upgraded to accommodate a third mud
pump and the additional electrical demand.
All of the rotary equipment was inspected and refurbished in
the workshop in accordance with APl requirement and a
third mud pump was brought in from Saudi Arabia and fitted.
The project was supported by a dedicated 'on the ground' team
from Dalma, under the control of Mr. V. Pandy.
This project presented us with considerable challenges as there

Once again as one of our earliest adopters of the new integrated
services facility, KCA DEUTAG have underlined their commitment
to us and we now have a record of offset performance that can
be traced back with some continuity to the initial award for the
upgrade program of the T 79 some two and a half
years ago.
It is our turn to reward the KCA DEUTAG initiative with our
commitment to complete and produce these rigs on schedule
without compromise to our HSE and product quality. Stated, Tim
Lamprell VP Lamprell Oilfield Engineering.
All three rigs are being redeployed from outside of the Middle
East region to help satisfy the regional appetite for high
specification rigs in the current climate. Availability is still falling
short of the actual demand.
The understanding and cooperation between the two companies
and their respective project teams has developed well, and again
will be a decisive factor in keeping this schedule on track. We
will take great pleasure in updating the progress as
the story unfolds.
Nabors Drilling
Nabors rig 103 is a 3000 hp unit and is now nearing com
pletion. Our target date is June 1st 2006. The rig is now being
assembled, in preparation for final rig up and commissioning.
A new mud control system has been built, and is currently being
was little history or background to be found about the rig, said
Gavin Lekich, the Head of Projects for Oilfield Engineering.'It is
vital to maintain the lines of communication with your client, as
the scope can change on a daily basis; this has the potential to
de-rail the completion schedule if you cannot maintain clarity and
open dialogue exchange with the customer.'
KCA DEUTAG - triple header
No sooner had KCA DEUTAG Rig T 202 mobilized from the
footprint it had occupied for the last 4 months, to take up its
new contract for KCA DEUTAG in Bangladesh, Lamprell Oilfield
Engineering were awarded the multiple refurbishment of rigs
T 210, T209 and Rig T 19.
All three units will be brought into the yard during the next 4 to 6
weeks an extensive program of works to be carried out which is
now being developed. Once again our resources and ability to
deliver will be tested by a demanding schedule, with the first rig
due out by the end of August 06
The first to arrive will be the T 210, a 3000 HP capacity rig, and
in order to accelerate the build program, all three rigs will have
a common design, new mud system to be built simultaneously by
the Lamprell team.
Elements of rotary equipment will come from KCA's existing
inventory and will be sent for refurbishment to our API workshops
for overhaul and repair and then offered up to the respective
rig unit.

“The Sea is our life” is the logo for the event launched by
Sharjah Seaports and Customs Authority as an environmental
campaign designed to raise awareness, educate and encourage
the public of all ages that the sea and the environs of the creek
are huge suppliers of natural resources that should be respected
protected and maintained.
In keeping with our own mission, to conduct our operations
without injury or damage to the environment, Lamprell were
exceptionally pleased to be part of such an important event

generation system.
Nabors rig 221 is a box on box design 1500 HP unit and the
refurbishment program is now complete. The unit will now be
rigged down in the current week in preparation for departure.
During the refurbishment program an additional rig package,
power and mud system was fabricated, installed and
commissioned in tandem with the refurbishment program of
the existing 221 skeleton.
This additional package will be coupled up to Nabors rig
126 on its arrival in the yard as a box on box mirror of
the 221 1500HP format.
To complete the inbound compliment Nabors have Rig 144 cur-
rently in transit from the United States. This is a larger 3000 HP
unit and after a stay with Lamprell the rig will be offered for
operations in the region were the demand for larger
rigs is increasing.
The common denominator for all of our existing land rig clients is
the regional hot bed of contract activity in a backdrop of
limited rig availability and supply. Our pledge remains the same
to deliver quality on time, every time, for a fair market price
without detriment to our people or our environment.

Lamprell Annual cricket - 2006
After a break of some two years, Lamprell celebrated their
annual cricket day on 13t.h January 2006 at the Dubai cricket
council ground.
Two games were played with Lamprell Sharjah and Lamprell
Jebel Ali teams contesting the silverware.Winning the toss
Lamprell Jebel Ali elected to bat first, scoring 179 runs from an
allotted 22 overs.
Ashok played a fine knock of 38 runs with Les Wilson scoring
a quick 27 runs. Not to mention a sterling second innings knock
of 19 runs delivered by our own Fergus Ludden who in his own
words 'kept the middle order together'.
Chris Hand grabbed 3 wickets for 15 runs. Chasing the target of
180 runs Lamprell Sharjah scored 140 runs after loosing all their
wickets in 19 overs. A partnership of Kevin Isles and Madhav
finished as top scorers for Lamprell Sharjah on the day.
Ashok and Suman each took 3 wickets with Ashok emerging as
man of the match.
Trophies for the winning team, runners up team and the leading
individuals were presented by Colin Jones.
A second game was played to ensure that all the players on the
day were given a chance to take part and enjoy the event.
The proceedings were rounded off with a delicious lunch and
refreshments much enjoyed by all.
We are planning to expand next year’s event to include an inter-
department cricket game during the annual cricket day.
I am reliably informed that Kevin Isles Vice President Construction
Sharjah is on hand to translate this article for any of our transat-
lantic clients who admit to being somewhat confused at this point.
