Catequésis Comunitaria y Familiar
Yo creo.
apela a tu corazón?
There will not be a penance service during Lent due to
COVID-19. There will be an additional opportunity to
receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation every Friday
from 3-5 p.m.
During Lent, there will be Mass Monday through Friday
at 9:00 a.m. in English. There will also be a Mass in
Spanish on Wednesday nights at 6:30 p.m.
“The annual observance of Lent is the special season for the ascent to the holy mountain of Easter. Through its twofold
theme of repentance and baptism, the season of Lent disposes both the catechumens and the faithful to celebrate
the paschal mystery. Catechumens are led to the sacraments of initiation by means of the rite of election, the scrutinies, and cate-chesis. The faithful, listening more intently to the word of
God and devoting themselves to prayer, are prepared through a spirit of repentance to renew their baptismal
promises” (Ceremonial of Bishops, 249).

Fourth Sunday of Lent
Week of March 14, 2021
Listen to the Word (John 3:14-21)
As you hear Jesus’ words to Nicodemus today, which words or
phrases strike you? What in this reading touches your heart?
Look into your life
Question for children: Who is one person in your life who
supports your faith and helps it to grow?
Question for youth: The Gospel speaks of following God as
coming toward the light. How can you move towards the light in
your own life? What is the darkness that needs Jesus’ healing in
your life?
Question for adults: When is it difficult for you to believe? What
particular line in this reading helps your faith?
Activities for the week:
Take these activities to further reflect:
Thank Jesus for the gift of faith. Pray the Stations of the Cross
together with your family, or join your parish community in the
Stations of the Cross.
Make a poster with the words of John 3:16. Use this verse at
the beginning of your family prayer this week. Thank God for
all God has done for your family.
Distribute a sheet of paper to each family member. Ask each
person to list ten blessings in his or her life. After a few minutes
of reflection, ask each member to share some of his or her
blessings. Then make a list of family blessings.
Live your faith as a family this week. For example, send a get-
well card to someone who is ill, make soup and take it to a
homebound person, invite someone who lives alone over for
dinner.

Join me in congratulating our 2021 Youth of the Year
Miss Lexie-Anne Rodkey
Lexie-Anne has been a member of Our Lady of La Salette Catholic Church for as long as she can remember! She is currently a Senior at Cherokee High School and will
continue to further her studies at The University of Georgia’s Honors College for Computer Science and Non-Profit Management this Fall! Aside from her studies – she is currently in 11 clubs, 5 of them which she founded at
Cherokee. Lexie has also been in the hospitality ministry at our parish for 9 years and ministers to the sick and homebound for 3 years! Her heart of service is beautiful and inspiring! During her free time, she loves to babysit, work with kids,
bake, spend time with friends and family, and – of course – being involved in the community as much as she can! Her heart for others is a beautiful testimony on the Lord charity
and love for his people!
It is with great honor that I present Miss. Lexie-Anne Rodkey as our 2021 Youth of the Year.

Through, CRS Rice Bowl, we share the journey with members of our human family around the world, and commit our Lenten prayers, fasting, and almsgiving to deepening our faith and serving those in need. We have teamed up with CRS again this year and have set a goal of only $2500 to be raised within our parish community. We are very excited to offer a brand new online community giving
platform, put together by our friends at Catholic Relief Services.
If your family would prefer to have the physical Rice Bowls, they are available in the back of the Church, the Parish Hall, and in the Religious Education office. If you would like to give online, please
visit the Our Lady of La Salette Catholic Church Team Page!
