Welcome back! The Thanksgiving Break came at just the right time. Staff and students returned eagerly ready to complete this first semester. This has been a busy semester already and, if history proves true, will only speed up! Grandparents Day was fabulous! Thank you to all who came and shared other family members with us. The kids just beam when their extended family visits! We welcome our new high school science teacher, Chad Savage. He is originally from Cleveland, Tennessee and received his BS in Biology from Lee University. Chad worked as an environmental educator and ropes course instructor before accepting the position at TCS. On this beautiful campus, I am sure he will find lots to inspire our students to enjoy! We are so glad he has joined our team! Our professional partnerships are so important! We practice relational business, so we like to work with folks who are personable and who understand our mission! Our bank, First Landmark Bank, annually commissions an artist to paint a local scene that will hang in their Marietta office. Notecards are produced using the artwork and proceeds from the sale of the cards go to a selected non-profit. This year they chose US! We are so thrilled! The lovely notecards make a great gift! See more details about this wonderful opportunity in this packet. A quick look at our school calendar clearly reveals very busy sports activity! I hope you have joined other parents in supporting the concession stand during those games. The revenue is important, of course, but the real benefit is the experience of serving our school community and our guests, as well as modeling appropriate work skills for our student volunteers. We receive compliments on the respectful and courteous nature of our students almost every week! If you have not signed up, please do so soon! Another time sensitive request has to do with our Annual Fund Campaign. We are working hard to capture some significant Foundation Grants totaling several hundred thousand dollars. Of course we are competing for these dollars against a huge number of non-profit agencies. One major component of getting the financial boost from these generous organizations is to have a healthy percentage of our parents who demonstrate their financial support of the school and their mission. That indicator is completely housed in our percent of giving for the Annual Fund. Please answer our plea for a financial contribution that will boost our percentage and increase our chances of raising our capital funds. We have several projects in our future. We would like to complete the classroom addition to the Cougar Center and replace the aging Building A. Our track and field, soccer, tennis and baseball teams would really love home court advantage. Having the funds to build out our athletic facilities would be a great help! We manage our tuition funds very well, enabling TCS to get a lot of bang for our operating buck. However, facility growth requires monies above and beyond what our tuition can provide. That is where our local foundations can step in and help, as they have so often in the past. Please help us secure the additional funds we need by donating what you can to the Annual Fund. Thank you for the extra time and effort you guys give to us! Our Thanksgiving Turkeys were adorable and the weekly treats for staff meetings keep us smiling!

All Parents are Encouraged to Join Up (for just one shift) – For the Benefit of the Booster Club

The Booster Club stands to gain the profits for all Concession Stand sales where a parent volunteer takes on Concession Stand supervision. Fortunately, our student volunteers make your job easy by taking on all of the heavy lifting. Your job primarily consists of manning the cash box, and providing an adult presence. If your schedule does not allow you to assume a

shift, you can contribute by providing water, sports drink, snack items or sandwiches for hospitality suites during the MS Basketball Tournament (12/12 + 12/14) and the Junior Varsity

Conference Championship (2/6 + 2/8).

Contact Lyle Cutchin regarding any volunteer times or donations (see the reverse page for open shifts) Lyle’s Office Number: 678-250-5120
