Welcome to the Mt Marshall Community Show.
2019 marks the 88th year of our Show which celebrates
the rich past and vibrant future of agriculture within our communities. Our theme this year is Paddock to Plate with which we will be celebrating all the great things our communities produce.
The Mt Marshall & Districts Agricultural Society look forward to presenting a range of new initiatives alongside the old favourites to keep visitors and families entertained. There will be plenty of action occurring throughout the day starting with the Horses in Action Programme and Utility Dog Trials, both of which attracted many at the 2018 Show. We have the Motor Show back this year incorporating Trucks, Cars, Utes, Tractors, Bikes and Go Karts with something for everyone. If you prefer to sit back and relax throughout the day you will be able to enjoy our cooking demonstrations which will be presented by some of the best in the business. The committee have worked hard to ensure there is something to entertain all ages across the day and hope to attract crowds from near and far, so make sure you invite your friends and family for a great day out.
The Mt Marshall & Districts Agricultural Society could not stage the Show without the support of our sponsors, award donors and volunteers. Bringing this community event to fruition is a year round activity for our committee and the requirement for funds is ever increasing. We thank our major sponsors, the Shire of Mt Marshall and Lotterywest, for their continued support in funding our event.
The Show requires significant efforts from our volunteers and I would like to make a special mention to our committee, Sharon Kett, Sally Putt, Lauren Grylls, Emily Millar, Loren Northover, Katharine Spencer, Olivia Granich, Brianna Peters and Daneeka Beagley for their dedication and commitment to making the Show happen. We look forward to seeing you on Show day!

All exhibitors must be residents of Australia.
No Person who has been disqualified from exhibiting at any Show or Society shall be allowed to act as an agent, representative or servant of an exhibitor at any of the Society’s Shows.
If only one entry is received in any class, it does not necessarily receive first prize. It is up to the judges’ discretion to award or withhold prizes.
The Committee reserves the right to split any Class in to more than one Class if deemed necessary. The decision of the Committee shall be final, subject to an appeal to the Royal Agricultural Society.
Any prize which may be held in consequence of any valid protest shall be forfeited to the Society. Should any exhibit, having gained a prize, be disqualified either by protest or other reason, the next on the list does not necessarily obtain such a prize. The committee, with or without the advice of the judges, shall decide the issue.
Every exhibit must be the bona-fide property of the exhibitor, both at the time of entry and on the date of the Show.
Should the Committee have any reason to suspect that an exhibit is dangerous or objectionable, they may have it removed from or refuse its admission to the grounds
Privileges of Members: Free admission to the ground and a voice in the election of office bearers.
To Exhibitors: Carefully read regulations and conditions in the schedule. It will greatly assist the secretary if exhibitors could submit their entries at the earliest possible date. In case of doubt that an exhibit is eligible, the matter may be referred to the Committee.
Champion Sash: is presented for the champion exhibit.
Champion Cards: are presented for outstanding exhibits in the Exhibition Hall.
20

Australia produces a wide variety of fruit, nuts and vegetables. The largest crops include oranges, apples, bananas, chestnuts, potatoes, carrots and tomatoes. Each year, WA produces about 14 million tonnes of grain from around 4000 rain-fed farms ranging in size from 1000 to 15 000 hectares. Wheat is the state's major grain crop with approximately 7 million tonnes produced annually, followed by barley, canola, oats, lupins and peas. Farmed animals are raised to provide food for humans to eat. These foods include eggs, dairy and meat. Farmed animals include cows, chickens, pigs, goats, ducks, lambs and turkeys. Farmed animals can feel joy, excitement, playfulness and warmth. They can also feel pain, fear, discomfort, hunger, thirst and cold. It is important for people to make sure that farmed animals are not only given food and water, but do not feel pain, discomfort, fear and distress.
