Thanks to my hard working and highly valued committee for your ideas and commitment towards another successful show in 2019. I appreciate that there is a lot of hard work behind the scenes to make this day happen. This year, initiatives such as the car show by Brianna stimulated a great attendance. We are going really well with good support from neighbouring towns and ex-Bencubbinites marking the day on the calendar. Thanks to all our local businesses, volunteers, sponsors and sporting clubs for their support. Going forward I feel with continued energy and new ideas I'm sure the Ag Society and the show can prosper into the future. I am passionate about it and believe it is an integral event on the calendar to maintain a vibrant community. It’s just an excuse to share the day with valued friends, family and welcome back those who have moved on. Special thanks to those committee members who are moving on. Your contributions have been valuable. I would urge new committee members to come forward and join our great team. Let's aim for another big day in 2020.

Nick Gillett President Mt Marshall & District Agricultural Society Inc.

The Shire of Mt Marshall is located deep in the heart of Australia’s

Golden Outback, an easy three hours’ drive northeast of Perth in

WA’s Wheatbelt region. It’s rich agricultural lands, nurtured

generation after generation, have crafted the region’s proud

pioneering legacy and laid strong foundations for the future. In a

historic tribute to the region’s first settlers and once-thriving

sandalwood industry the Shire of Mt Marshall was officially named

The Sandalwood Shire in February 2007.

The two major towns Bencubbin, and nearby Beacon, are active,

safe and vibrant communities with excellent sporting facilities and a

remarkable community spirit. Home to some 500 local residents,

families living in the Shire of Mt Marshall enjoy a relaxed, country

lifestyle that encourages everyone to get involved.

From June to November, the natural landscape is transformed into

technicoloured tapestry as the region’s famed “carpet of colour”

comes into full bloom. It is also a great place to take a trip back in

time and visit the remains of centuries old homesteads, sheep

    yards and watering wells.
