BRAND PROFILE Inspired by British avant-garde and realised by Italian artisans, MFP Jewellery, is a conceptual brand created by Maria Francesca Pepe. The contrast of bold, sharp and geometric designs, combined with a touch of romanticism is what differentiates the MFP collections and makes it the brand of choice of the trendsetters. Art movements, femme fatale, disco 70s, and pop culture have been influential factors in the creation of The MFP most iconic pieces including the infamous Tubulars, the Ade rings, the Rihanna ear-cuff and chain, among many others. Collaborations with high end brands, celebrity stylists, as well as high street mega retailers include: Urban Outfitters (US and UK), Topshop, Roksanda Ilincic, Amanda Wakeley, Lady Gaga by Nicola Formichetti and Rihanna by Mel Ottenberg. In MFP hands ancient symbols serve as amulets, enhancing the ultimate jewellery function as the perfect gift. Shapes and classic elements are reinterpreted from their traditional and ethnic forms within a post-modern aesthetic, adding a techno-deco appeal. The cross, the harness, and the heart, gain fashion relevance. The MFP vision is to create beautifully handcrafted timeless pieces of superb quality with cutting edge design.
DESIGNER PROFILE Italian-born, Maria Francesa Pepe, after literature studies completed her BA in Fashion Design at the Instituto Marangoni in Milan, and then moved to the prestigious Central St Martins in London to accomplish her Masters in Women’s Wear Fashion. Drawing on her experience of having worked as a fashion designer in both Milan and London, she founded her eponymous brand in 2007 focusing on cutting edge fashion jewellery. Her accolades include the British Fashion Award nomination, Fashion East, New Gen and Vogue talent sponsorships, which naturally led to achieving international press recognition, high profile celebrity endorsements, strategic brand collaborations and global distribution in luxury retail establishments. Based in London, Maria gains inspiration from the thriving artistic scene, which complements her creativity and predisposition to art and music.
