[Engineering] Highlights
Tool turret. 12-position VDI 40 axial turret with single-motor engineering. A servo motor powers the driven tools and the swivel movement. No tool rise. Switches with direction logic. Every station can hold driven tool holders with a DIN 5480 coupling. Additional Block-Tool mounting surfaces on outside diameter.
Tailstock. The tailstock is mounted on linear roller-type guideways and can be moved using the Z slide. May also be moved using an additional servo drive. At the position, the tailstock gets hydraulically clam-ped when in use. The quill with its integrated bearings and MT4 taper can also be fine-tuned.
Y axis. The Y axis is one of the highlights of the MAXXTURN series. It is integrated into the machine’s struc-ture so that the short projections and widely-spaced guide rails guarantee the highest levels of stability, allowing complex machining tasks to be carried out and entire workpieces to be manufactured in just one clamping cycle. The control unit’s wide variety of operating cycles allows the additional linear axes to be programmed and operated with ease.
Main spindle. The latest synchronous technology guarantees the highest dynamics and exceptional torque in a compact design. A closed-circuit cooling system (water cooling) and complex sensor techno-logy ensure that temperatures in the headstock are consistent.
Steady rest. Hydraulically-operated, self-centering steady rest. Mounted on the tailstock guideway, it can be positioned by engaging to the Z-axis or controlled by an additional servo motor. If the stead-rest is not needed for the process, it can be swivelled away or simply dismounted.

[Clamping cylinder / chuck]
Hydraulically activated clamping cylinders and chucks guarantee the precise, safe clamping of work pieces. Programmable sensors are used for stroke monitoring. There is no need for time-consuming adjustments of contactless limit switches.
