NEW COVENANT SCHOOL’S
CHRISTIAN HERITAGE CLUB New Covenant School’s Christian Heritage Club exists so that
families and individuals can invest in the training of our next Christian generation.
Enrollment season is here and it is BUSY! Many, many families are interested in enrolling multiple
children. But they need help! New Covenant School is seeking donors who are willing to give a small donation to the school monthly and pray for
the school weekly. It is as simple as this… 10 donors, each giving only $10 a week, will
allow at least one student to be able to receive a Christ centered education on full scholarship!
All gifts to the CHC are tax deductible and go directly to New Covenant School’s Scholarship Fund. For the 2013-2014 school year, the CHC gave out over $20,000 in scholarships!
If you are interested in investing in the CHC, please contact Mr. Joe Canney at 224-5675 or at [email protected].

WELCOME TO THE FAMILY ..... Joani Collins
Where are you originally from? I grew up in North Carolina but I now live in Fair Play, SC.
What made you decide to join New Covenant Church? Since I have been at AU it has been difficult to be involved consistently with my home church. I wanted to find a church that was close by but also challenged me to grow in my knowledge and love for the Lord. New Covenant has definitely been that for me.
How did you come to know the Lord? I started my relationship with the Lord when I was very young. My parents made everything at home a teachable moment so I grew up hearing about sin and salvation. The more I heard the truth of the gospel the more convicted I became of my sin and desired to be made new. The Holy Spirit brought me to a place of surrender and regeneration. Now with assured salvation I continue to grow in my desire and longing to be with my Savior.
What are some of your hobbies? My favorite place to be is in the out-doors. Hiking through the mountains, playing in waterfalls, camping, kayak-ing, canoeing or any other adventurous activity. I also love wood burning, painting and swing dancing.
Where do you work/what do you do/where do you go to school/what grade are you in/what is your favorite subject? In the fall I will begin my senior year at Anderson University. I have been studying Christian Ministry with a focus in Missions and plan to pursue a Masters in Teaching English as a Foreign Language. I plan to teach English internationally as a gateway for missions. Until then, I spend my summers staffing a summer camp for youth called SummerSalt in Winnsboro, SC. In August I will begin working as an intern with Crossroads Ministry where I will be planning and leading foreign mission trips.
Please join us for our outdoor VBS Finale! !Come enjoy some Bruster’s ice-cream and pet some furry farm friends! (Shh! Let’s keep this a surprise for the children!) Thursday, June 12 at 6:30 PM !!!!

WELCOME TO THE FAMILY ..... Glenn & Jonda Dawson !!Where are you originally from? Glenn and I met while we were attending the University of Kentucy. Glenn is originally from Lexington, and I am from a small town north of Lexington called Greenup, KY. !What made you decide to join New Covenant Church? Before our family began visiting New Covenant Church, we were members of a larger church, primarily for our children’s involvement with various youth programs. After our children graduated from high school and moved away to college, Glenn and I were seeking a smaller, more intimate church home. We love the fo-cus on studying God’s word and the emphasis on our Christ-centered con-gregation. !How did you come to know the Lord? We both attended church with our families as children, and after we were married and moved to the Greenville area, we became very involved at Mauldin Methodist Church. there our de-votion to the Lord and commitment to Him continued to grow in our indi-vidual faiths and as a family unit. !What are some of your Hobbies? Glenn enjoys working in the yard and my hobbies include reading and cooking. Together we enjoy hiking and having a golden retriever walk us around our neighborhood and park trails. !Where do you work and what do you do? Glenn is the director of Devel-opment for Sage Automotive Interiors. I am an Inpatient Diabetes Educator with the Greenville Health System.

Encouragement from Penny....... ! My name is Penny LoPresto, I have been attending NC Church for about 4 months now. We moved to Anderson the end of November. At that time I started looking for a church right away. My intention was to visit several churches before making a decision where I felt God want-ed me, but from the first time I heard Dr. Rountree, I was moved and felt his message was Holy Spirit inspired. I learned that he also had a disci-pleship class after the church service, so I was very curious about it and went. It has kept me coming back every week. ! God has surely blessed Dr. Rountree with a gift to preach and teach His word. I appreciate the fact that he follows 2 Tim 2:15, “Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” I like the fact that he searches the scriptures for the truth and doesn’t sway away from what God has laid out in His scriptures for us to live by. He makes his class interesting and usually asks if there are any questions about the sermon first, prays for any prayer needs, and then we get on with the teaching. When I first started, his class he was teaching on understanding the Bible correctly. It was very interesting and helped me a lot. Dr. Rountree is now going through the entire Bible from Genesis to Revelation. He is going at a pace where we can grasp the teachings plus discuss the topics and verses if we need to. The class is not only interesting but fun. If you hear singing going on while we are in class, it is because we are learning the books of the Bible to a catchy song. Jump in before you miss too much! I am very thankful God has brought me to NCC for this season in my life. If you haven’t attended one of Dr. Rountree’s classes, or any of the discipleship classes, I encourage you to. They surely help you grow in
WELCOME TO THE FAMILY ..... Doug ReedWhere are you originally from? I was born in New York. Grew up in North Charleston.
What made you decide to join New Covenant Church? Had been looking for a long time (laziness is my biggest weakness) then decided to attend at the request of Dirk Graves. Found the church to be exactly what I was looking for.
How did you come to know the Lord? I was saved in 2001 after feeling empty inside despite trying to fulfill myself through the sins of this world. I attended church at the request of a friend but it wasn’t until I started read-ing His word that I saw the truth in God and Jesus.
What are some of your hobbies? Reading and computer games.
Where do you work/what do you do? I have my own optometry practice nearby, Electric City Eye Care.
