Don’t Make Me Name Names…

But your consideration for others has been noticed!!! We see how you have been choosing those spaces which are not as convenient to the entrances of our buildings so that they are free for those who really need them. What encouragement it is to see your love for the body of Christ. Thanks!!

God delights in our tithes and offerings, therefore, let us fill the Christmas sea-son with both! You and your family have the opportunity to make a very sig-nificant tangible difference in Christ’s kingdom at New Covenant this year through our annual Christmas offering. Last year we used our Christmas offerings to support missions beyond us. This year we have decided to place a significant number of ministers and mis-sions in our 2011 budget so they will receive regular gifts from us throughout the year. This giving amounts to over $74,000.00 to be disbursed by us through our weekly tithes and offerings. The recipients are listed below.

Ministers and Missions in our 2011 church budget . . . Rev. John Boyte (Reformed University Fellowship—Anderson University) Rev. Joey Wright (Reformed University Fellowship—Mississippi College) Rev. Guillermo Salinas (Presbyterian Evangelistic Fellowship—Mexico) Rev. Wageeh Mikhail (Evangelism & Arabic Translations—Egypt) Anderson Interfaith Ministries Anderson Care Pregnancy Clinic Calvary Home for Children—Anderson Haven of Rest Ministries—Anderson New Covenant School Anderson’s Mothers of Preschoolers Good News Club at Midway School Family Promise All the PCA Agencies: Calvary Presbytery, Mission to North America, Chris-tian Education and Publication, Committee of Administration, Ridge Haven, Covenant Seminary, and Covenant College

With our ministers and missions sup-port covered through regular budget disbursements we are designating our Christmas offering for a different im-portant matter, something we have wanted to address for a long time: budget relief through mortgage reduc-tion. We all know in these difficult economic times how important it is to get our own house in order. We are compelled, therefore, towards getting the Lord’s house in the best order first and foremost. Though our current land and buildings are valued at ap-proximately $4,300,000.00 we have an outstanding mortgage of $896,000.00. The debt to asset ratio is good but now is the time to work on getting that debt completely paid off through extra offerings and refinance. With this move we become a stronger church family with an increase in min-istry and mercy to others. Wouldn’t it be great to be debt-free as a church family? Help us get there by asking God to enable you to contribute “one month’s extra tithe” during the month of December. We have several boxes decorated to receive your one month extra tithe/offering during the month of Decem-ber—one under the Christmas tree and one in the hospitality lobby. Please feel free to put your offering in the offering plates as well, designated as your Christmas gift for Christ. Giv-ing an entire extra month of our tithe will not be an easy task. That is a good place to be. It is the place of true sacrifice for Jesus and the place of his highest honor (see Mark 12:41-44).

We have plans to move forward in growth. This year we have seen an average Sunday morning attendance of 310 persons. As soon as we begin to average 350 we will develop a profile and search team for an additional staff person to bring some relief and assis-tance to our hard-working volunteers. We do not want to proceed too quickly toward additional obligations and neglect a careful and necessary work of seeking God and his re-sources. Be confident of this, God has greater plans for us than what we pres-ently see so let us keep on inviting our friends and new acquaintances to join us in wholehearted love for God and man at New Covenant. Will you give a special sacrificial gift equivalent to one month’s tithe of what God normally pours out on you? Please join your New Covenant broth-ers and sisters in honoring Christ this Christmas season with an offering that demonstrates Christ’s mission as our first and highest priority.

After coming to the house they saw the Child with Mary His mother,

and they fell to the ground and worshiped Him. Then,

opening their treasures, they presented to Him gifts of gold,

frankincense, and myrrh. Matthew 2:11

Discipleship Classes (Nov 2010-Jan 2011) 11:10 a.m.—12:00 p.m.

New!

New!

A Study of Galatians (A101) Instructors: Joe Noblitt, John Boyte, Dale Hardy, & Greg Skipper Are you free in Christ...Really Free?? Do you know what it means to be free in Christ? Jesus said, “You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” Free from man’s rules and regulations; empowered by the grace of God to glorify Him and enjoy Him forever. This plus many other things you will learn in this study of Galatians.

The Book (A211) Instructors: James Duncan, Dale Hardy Where did the Bible come from? How can we trust that it’s really God’s inspired and infalli-ble word to us? Why did God choose a library of books as his primary means of communicat-ing to us? In this class, we’ll look at what the Bible has to say about itself, examine argu-ments for its authority, track its development through time, and learn how to properly read and interpret it.

The Excellent Marriage (A212) Instructors: Mark Burchette & Joe Noblitt You have heard of the excellent wife and the complete husband—How about the excellent marriage? The keys to an excellent marriage are found in knowing and practicing the marital principles found in God’s Word. The Bible teaches that a husband should unconditionally love his wife. It also teaches that a wife should unconditionally respect her husband. When these two foundational principles are put into practice a marriage will blossom. Come and learn how to make these and other biblical truths practical in your married life.

Spirituality in the Midst of Brokenness (A213) Instructors: Johnny Ross & Philip Pidgeon Larry Crabb describes shattered dreams as “God’s unexpected pathway to joy.” He states that, “The Holy Spirit uses the pain of shat-tered dreams to help us discover our desire for God, to help us begin dreaming the highest dream.” What if we began to dream greater dreams than having a pleasant life? This study will use both biblical texts as well Crabb’s book, Shattered Dreams, to explore, and hope-fully reach for, a mature and honest spirituality in the midst of brokenness.

Capstone (9th-12th) (A214) Instructors: Matt Clegg, Rob Cord & Joey Thames Topical Lessons for Teens.

Cornerstone (6th-8th) (B204) Instructors: Dexter Williams, Mike Settle & Owen Hall “Jesus My Savior”

Why everyone needs a Savior and how Jesus fulfills that role based on the Gospel of Luke.

Covenant Kids (K4-5th) (Assembly in C108) Instructors: Many gifted, talented teachers This quarter the Covenant Kids Discipleship Hour Classes will be using Great Commission Publications Curriculum materials. The topic this quarter will be “Knowing Jesus.” The children will learn stories from the Gospels.

New!

New Covenant Mission: Wholehearted love for God and man through

exaltation, evangelism and edification (Matthew 28:17-20).
