  • 1.Lemon Curd and Blueberry Trifle! This trifle has bursts of citrus, the cool smoothness of blueberries and cream, all layered with lightly crisp ladyfingers! Prep time: 30 minutes + 1 hour to chill Serves: 8-10 Watch the Video

IngredientsFor Trifle For Curd1 package Ladyfingers1 cup sugar1 package blueberries1 tablespoon finely grated lemon zest1 cup blueberry jam2/3 cup fresh lemon juice2 cups whipping cream8 large egg yolks3 tablespoons Grand Marnier teaspoon course sea salt cup fresh lemon juice10 tablespoons unsalted butter1 lemon + cup sugar + cup water tomake candied lemon garnish Cooks note: other biscuit cookie or angel food cake can be substituted for Ladyfingers 3. Step 1 Prepare the Lemon CurdIn a medium saucepan, off heat, whisk all ingredients except butter.Add butter and place pan over medium-high heat. Cook, whiskingcontinuously, until butter is melted and mixture is thick enough to coat theback of a spoon (approx. 5 minutes) do not allow to boil.Remove pan from heat, whisk for another 30 seconds, then pour curdthrough a fine sieve, into a glass bowl.Press plastic wrap against the surface of curd and refrigerate until cool. 4. Step 2 Make Candied Lemon GarnishSlice a lemon into 1/8-1/4 inch roundsBring cup sugar and cup water to a boilin small saucepan.Add lemon slices and simmer for 25 minutesUse a slotted spoon to transfer lemon slicesto waxed or parchment paper to coolAdd cup fresh lemon juice to remainingsyrup to use in trifleBeat whipping cream and powdered sugar toform stiff peaks 5. Step 3 Layer the Trifle and Chill Arrange Ladyfingers in a layer across bottom of Trifle dish Brush 1 tablespoon Grand Marnier on Ladyfingers, followed by a coating of the lemon syrup you made in the last step Layer on 1/3 of the Lemon Curd Layer on 1/3 of the freshly rinsed and patted dry blueberries Layer on 1/3 cup blueberry Jam Layer on 1/3 of the freshly whipped cream Repeat layering 2 more times so there are three layers each set of ingredients Garnish with Candied lemons and chill to set for about 30 minutes to an hour 6.
