According to South Dakota Secretary of Education Dr. Melody Schopp (personal

communication, 2010), “We have seen that having mentors who can come to the

principals to provide support where they are and work has been a unique

method. While we have always struggled to provide ongoing support and funds

for mentoring, it is something we need to consider continuing to find ways to

help keep this work going.” (p. 15)
