Image Design Overview This course provides students with access to the latest development in image design, and develops their creativity, communication skills, team work and people skills through interactive learning and teaching activities. The course also helps students better prepare for further studies and/or employment in the image design industry. Two streams, viz “Fashion Image Design Stream” and “Hair Design Stream”, are offered and students are required to indicate their preference at the time of application. This course is organised into five modules: Special features 1. Professional teaching team: Course tutors with extensive industrial experience to facilitate students’ understanding of the latest development of the related industries 2. Diversified learning and teaching activities: e.g. practical training, projects, professional talks and sharing, visits to fashion shows and exhibitions, museums and fabric markets, “my STYLE” Fashion and Hair Show etc 3. The Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong (THEi) or Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI) of the VTC Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Fashion Design Higher Diploma in International Fashion Business Higher Diploma in Fashion Image Design Higher Diploma in Fashion Design Employment Careers in the fields of fashion or image design, make-up or hair styling, visual and installation design, fashion retailing or buying, fashion media, cosmetics or hair products marketing etc Selection Arrangement Students are required to attend a group interview. Selection is based on student’s interest and passion towards the industry; aptitude; finger dexterity (for Hair Design Stream); communication and language skills Class Arrangement Mode 1 (Remark: The final class arrangement may be subject to change with respect to the final confirmation of student enrolment) Time: (Lessons will also be scheduled during summer vacation) 3 hours per lesson scheduled for: Every Saturday 9:00 am to 12:00 noon or Every Saturday 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm Venue: School of Business and Information Systems 81 Hing Shing Road, Kwai Chung, N.T. Mode 2 Time and venue can be flexibly arranged subject to mutual agreement between the school and the VTC Course Fee $12,500 (Course fee is fully subsidised by the EDB and secondary schools) (Course fee reduction will be offered to schools participating in Mode 2) 9 10 Image Design
