Scenario
You have been employed as a trainee by a group of consultants specialising inproviding turn around and quality management solutions to a wide range of clients.You are working for a research team. As an initial test of your capabilities one of thesenior managers has instructed your team to select an engineering organisation ofyour choice. This can be an organisation you have researched or an organisationyou work for. You are required to undertake an initial research into your chosenorganisations quality management systems and present your findings in a report.
When undertaking your research you must answer all tasks:
Task 1 (LO1)Investigate Total Quality Management (TQM) by:
a) Identify and explain the principles of TQM relating these to your chosenorganisation
b) Identify and evaluate management structures that can lead to an effectivequality organisation
c) Analyse the application of TQM techniques within your chosenorganisation
Task 2 (LO2)Examine the key factors of Quality Assurance (QA) techniques by:
a) Identifying the key factors necessary for the implementation of a QAsystem within a given process
b) Interpreting a given internal and external quality audit for control purposesc) Describing and evaluating factors affecting costing
