The immediate reaction is a desire to help – to donate money, to volunteer, to do something to make life a little better, a little more dignified for the people who lost everything. After an emergency, a speedy response is critical also in terms of fundraising. Employees often expect their companies to facilitate the support, especially if they have business activities and employees in the affected country. Having a corporate employee giving mechanisms in place is critical for companies to mobilize the humanitarian spirit of their employees and partners, and help them to give tangible support to the life-saving work of the world’s largest humanitarian network. Fundraising globally To make this easy, fast and even tax-effective, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) has teamed up with ammado to provide a web-tool that works globally – making it easy for companies to manage employee giving, public online giving with customers, and support for public campaigns in online networks and social media. A branded global online fundraising campaign can be launched within minutes, and the technical side – customer support, software maintenance etc. – is all handled by ammado, as is the task of collecting the money and transferring the funds. The money is raised globally, but the donations are allocated locally. This gives donors the benefit of full tax-efficiency (with online reporting and automated tax receipts) and the reassurance that the donations will benefit the participating Red Cross or Red Crescent society in each individual donor’s own country. Setting up a Fundraiser The first step is to select an appeal the company wants to support (click link).

Corporate Giving

After a major disaster, the images of terrible suffering and destruction are broadcast around the world, and are on every social media platform.

Fundraising globally

To make this easy, fast and even tax-effective, the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) has teamed up with ammado to provide a web-tool that works globally – making it easy for companies to manage employee giving, public online giving with customers, and support for public campaigns in online networks and social media.

Setting up a Fundraiser

The first step is to select an appeal the company wants to support (click link).

Companies can define a title for their campaign and a branded appeal will be created immediately on ammado.

An email will be sent to further customize the appearance of the appeal, i.e. with the company logo.

By using the widget provided by ammado, the donation tool can also be embedded into the companies’ own intranet or web site to offer full donation functionality within the corporate look and feel.

Corporate Microsite Alternatively, partners who wish to launch a large-scale appeal can get a special microsite hosted on IFRC’s web site, ifrc.org (link to example).
