Psalm 2 1 Why do the nations conspire and
the people plot in vain? 2 The kings of the earth take
their stand against the Lord and against his Anointed
One. 3 “Let us break their chains,” they say, “and
throw off their fetters.” 4 The One enthroned in
heaven laughs; the Lord scoffs at them. 5 Then he
rebukes them in his anger and terrifies them in his
wrath, saying 6 “I have installed my King on Zion,
my holy hill.” 7 I will proclaim the decree of the Lord:
He said to me, “You are my Son”; today I have become
your Father. 8 Ask of me, and I will make the nations
your inheritance, the ends of the earth your
possession. 9 You will rule them with an iron scepter;
you will dash them to pieces like pottery.” 10
Therefore, you kings, be wise; be warned, you rulers
of the earth. 11 Serve the Lord with fear and rejoice
with trembling. 12 Kiss the Son, lest he be angry and
you be destroyed in your way, for his wrath can flare
up in a moment. Blessed are all who take refuge in
him.

Goddard United Methodist Church
Attention Elizabeth Eubanks
1922 Dodson Avenue
Fort Smith, AR 72901
Dear Elizabeth:
Goddard Hospital House is a very important
ministry that meets the needs of people that are
in treatment and family members that have
someone in the hospital at Sparks Hospital,
Mercy Hospital, and/or the Cancer Support
House. The generous help from the United
Methodist Women made the House more inviting
by donating their time and resources in cleaning
and donating items that needed replacement.
Thanks to every Circle in accomplishing this
project and also the food that was shared.
Sincerely,
Hospital House Team Brenda Partin

The Children’s Ministry’s Growing
Needs!
Have you seen all the children?! Our children’s
ministry is growing! We are so excited to have
more and more children coming to church on
Sunday morning! It’s a joy to see them in both
worship services!
Sunday School attendance has grown immensely!
We have two separate classes for older and younger children. But we are very short on adults! We
need at least two Sunday School Helpers! You don’t have to plan a lesson or teach, we just
need adults who can help children with their crayons, papers, and crafts and keep the children on
task with their lesson. Please contact Keri Cousins or Debbie Moore if you can help on Sundays
from 9:40 - 10:40 a.m.
We need adults to help sit with children in the 10:50 a.m. worship service. We usually have 10 -12
children who sit on the front two rows alone because their parents are participating in worship,
such as the choir, or children who attend church without any other family. Pew Buddies are
adults who are there to help sit with the children. That’s it! They just need an adult to sit with. In
order for children to learn how to worship, they must go to worship. These children are really too
old to be in the nursery. They just need a Pew Buddy! If you can be a Pew Buddy, please contact
Keri Cousins and volunteer.
We also need volunteers for the church nursery. The nursery is open for the 10:50 a.m. worship ser-
vice. Nursery attendants may go to the Early Service and their usual Sunday School class.
We just need volunteers from 10:35 a.m. until the late service is over at approx. 12:00 noon. We
would like this time for infants and toddlers to be shown the love of Christ in a fun, safe place to
play while their families attend worship. Training will be provided so that volunteers feel comfort-
able serving God in this vital part of our ministry.
For the safety of our children, families, and volunteers, all adults working in the Children’s Ministry
are at least 18 years of age and background checked by Goddard UMC.
