There are many ways to use facebook. Please allow me to share a few: Build audience and participation.

Promote content.

Help users find the information and support they need.

Build visibility and brand recognition.

Be prepared for friend requests, messages, and comments from people you don’t know.

Make good use of images to draw attention to your work.

facebook gift application:

facebook members seem to love sending little virtual gifts. The gift application makes it easy to create an application. Is there some type of virtual gift to fit your vertical?

What it gives us:

Visibility Following Loyalty

Here’s an example of a MyMigraineConnection branded gift app…

facebook makes it quick and easy to share a link:

Go to your links page

Find the Share on facebook button

Drag it to the links bar on your browser

Whenever you publish a SharePost, article, quiz, etc., make it a habit topost the link to facebook.

Here’s an illustration of where to find the button…

Notes and observations:

Some of our vertical members comment on facebook rather than on our site, BUT that’s more than offset by people from facebook who aren’t site members but go read the content, then comment.

Sometimes, there are more comments on facebook than on the vertical.

We can also share links to other THCN expert content we think our readers will relate to, thus helping each other and the network as a whole.

Being visible on facebook and interacting with people “humanizes” us, and that can build a following and readership.
