We would like to “Thank you” for your kind do-nations of VHS/DVD players. We now have working machines in all rooms except for three rooms needs DVD player. We also have been able to purchase one more DVD for our resources cen-ter due to the cash donation. We are still interested in purchasing four to five more DVD’s to help our catechists. Do you have a portable CD player that you are not using? It would be extremely helpful for our teachers in grades K-3 to be able to teach and play songs. Our office is limited to have only a few to share. Classes begin for our Children’s Faith Formation in just a couple weeks.

Diocesan Scripture Study Program Continues in September Join Year 2 of the well received Biblical Institute of the Diocese of Joliet this fall at St. Petronille in Glen Ellyn (Thursdays, 7-9 p.m., beginning Sep. 15). Classes meet weekly September-May for two hours for a book-by-book study and reflection on the Bible, which includes lectures by veteran Scripture educa-tors Carol Kloss and Matthew Pozen. Year 2, New Testament Foundations, includes the gospels of Mark, Luke, and John; Acts of the Apos-tles; ten Pauline letters; and the book of Revelation. The four-year program covers all 73 books of the Bible. The Biblical Institute is available to all interested adults, so join with your friends. Anyone serving in a parish ministry that involves Scripture will benefit from the Biblical Institute experience. The month of august is almost over, and I can’t say but thank you to the entire commu-nity of St. Joseph for the welcome they have given me. A month full of activity and ser-vice to the community, especially the His-panic community, which I have been able to share faith and brotherly love in Christ, in which also I feel enriched by all of you. If God allows us, next year I will return in August to serve and to help Fr. Luis in Minis-try. Pray for me, so that the Lord continues to accompany me and keeps me at your service. Pantry News

On Wednesday August 24 we gave out 67 bags.

Thank you to all who have so generously sup-ported the pantry. Our food supplies have dwin-

dled over the summer months. We are in need of every-thing. Especially boxes of cereal, canned soup, canned fruit, and canned vegetables. You can put your donations in the pan-try bin that is near the north church entrance. Also, we are in need of help to unload the Northern Illinois Food Bank truck which comes at 11:00am on the second Tuesday of each month, and at 10:00am on the fourth Tuesday of each month.
