◦How did you attract/address your audience?

In order to establish which genre my targeted age range preferred, I created a questionnaire which I handed out to people at school who's age ranges from 15 to 19 years old.

From these results, we found that most people our age preferred horror films.

◦ To ensure we attracted our audience, we wanted to make sure that the genre was clear throughout our piece. To do this, from the very beginning we used dim lighting to show that the story wasn’t going to be a fairy tale. We also used non-diegetic sound which was slow and creepy to give parts that weren’t scary as scary vibe to them. We used visual effects to show the clear difference between the antagonist and protagonist characters which would be recognised by the audience as a typical convention of a horror film. To address the audience further, we used characters of a similar age range (as seen in question 2.) To attract to our audience even more, we included swear words which is a stereotypical trait of teenage language and we thought this would help the audience to relate to our characters.

◦Overall, I think we attracted and addressed our audience well and our feedback shows that they enjoyed watching it.
