Hello! My name is Kevin Clarridge and, when I’m not sketching, I find myself thinking about how technology will change our society in the future. I strive to learn about everything, from a microscopic to macroscopic perspective, and enjoy learning about all aspects of life and design. I challenge myself to work harder everyday, and hope to better society through technology, design, and thinking in my lifetime.

This is a collection of my personal work, but I have had the opportunity to work with these clients and more!

Design Direction

To design a running shoe for the emotionally driven consumer who does not want their shoe to do all the work for them, but also does not want to risk the possibility of injury or discomfort from running barefoot. This target consumer wants to feel the ground under their feet and the wind rushing over their skin. The shoe they use to run must be an extension of their own body and not a clunky tech shoe that dilutes the experience.

Nike Jellies:Running shoe design

Nike running shoes combine a highly flexible, low-profile outsole for natural movement and the cushioning, traction and lightweight support of a traditional running shoe.

What is next in the evolution of the running

Selected overall appearance; the layering creates visual forward motion, and the flywire runs out from under the translucent layer much like the inspiring jellyfish. The seperation between the translucent pieces near the toe allow a wide range of flexibility.

Flywire technology wraps around the shoe and up over the toes to allow a lightweight yet supportive fit.

Light breathable material creates the base layer of the shoe, creating an overall airy and light feel to the design.

Organic waves in the outsole offer a light shock absorption to every step.

Translucent layering on the top wraps around the heel and the base of the toes.

When turned on, the television slowly rises using electromagneticism. This also allows the television’s power to be transferred to the screen without cables. Your customized earpieces allow the television to locate you and direct your content, and allows you to hear the accompaning audio.

At random times, the watch face will have shut itself off, in the hope of reminding the owner to appreciate life and reflect on its greater purpose. A simple touch returns the watch’s functions.

“I give you the mausoleum of all hope and desire... I give it to you not that you may remember time, but that you might forget it now and then for a moment and not spend all of your breath trying to conquer it.”

William Faulkner, The Sound and the Fury

In a market flooded with smart watches, this watch design features a simple physical display. Without a glass face to scratch, and low profile hands, these watches can face the test of time.

Lately, I’ve been working to improve my sketching, modeling, and design skills in my free time through automotive concepts! I feel like cars are some of the most exciting and intricate blends of form and function in design, and they present a never ending design challenge for me!
