Sun Safety Congratulations to all the students who wear school hats. We will continue to encourage all children to wear school hats. Over the next few months we will be moving towards wide brimmed hats instead of caps. Wide brimmed hats provide more protection to children's faces, ears and neck. Please remember that children not wearing school hats will not be able to play at recess and lunch, in keeping with the sun safe policy. Sun screen should also be applied to your children before they come to school. Kindergarten Orientation Kindergarten Orientation has been running over the last few weeks. Last Tuesday, families made a healthy wrap with their child and participated in an information session with a dietitian. Children have been engaging with the morning activities and created their own green sheep, a basket of healthy food and completed a counting activity centered around an octopus. Next week, the children will get to meet their Year 6 Buddies for 2020 and they will participate in a treasure hunt around the school, locating important places. In this last session, Miss Bull and Mrs Baker will be providing lots of information to our families about starting school in 2020. This will be a longer session in the hall which will include a power point presentation. The school uniform shop will also be available and OOSH will also provide more information about their after school program.

Woolworths Earn & Learn A huge thank you to Woolworths Jesmond for always supporting Jesmond Public School. Last Friday, Service Supervisor Lisa presented students with art and craft supplies as part of the Earn and Learn initiative.

5 Cent Challenge Congratulations 1R for winning the 5 cent challenge with a total of $22.95. The students in 1R will select a song for the bell. The students raised $121.90 towards the new school sound system.
