One of the best ways to keep up to date with and truly understand the Philippine culinary landscape is to experience T.Dining’s Best Restaurant Guide (BRG) launch and Awards Night. At this energetic and animated annual affair, our country’s premier chefs, restaura-teurs, sommeliers, and oenophiles come together to honour the best, kick back and relax (for a change!), and indulge in the libations and amazing spread prepared by world-class chefs and mixologists.
Sixteen delicious years since its inaugural issue, the much-referred to guide has secured the top spot as the most trusted source of thor-ough and judicious coverage of the Philippines’ dining scene. Through the years, its co-editors Maritess Garcia Reyes and Shauna Jay Popple Williams, and esteemed panel of reviewers, have enjoyed eating and drinking their way through the archipelago, compiling a compre-hensive and inclusive cross-sec-tion of the most hankered after establishments (including a Best
Bars section) across Metro Manila, Cebu, Davao, Baguio, and Boracay. Once again, HSBC extended its partnership with the BRG 2020.
The launch and awarding, which was co-hosted by T.Dining’s Food & Wine Editor, Stephanie Zubiri and RJ Ledesma, brought together more than 300 foodies and dis-cerning sophisticates to the High Street Lounge of the Shangri-La at the Fort, Manila, to honour the 203 well-deserving restaurants who made it to this year’s guide. In her welcome remarks, Irene Martel Francisco, Philippine Tatler Managing Director, happily an-nounced the continuation of fruit-ful partnerships namely T.Dining’s Best Restaurants Week at Rockwell (now on its third year), as well as T.Dining’s A Culinary Journey through SM Aura Premier (which will be on its second). Then in Sep-tember, a unique and very exciting two-day foodie festival, Off Menu Manila, is set to tantalise taste buds.
