CVR Software Release Notes MA EVR Version 4.8A

Introduction CVR is pleased to announce Massachusetts Electronic Vehicle Registration (MA EVR) Software Release 4.8A. This release includes new features to the MA EVR product as described in this document. Please note that a shortlist of significant features is available under the ‘Release scope overview’ section.

A. Release Scope Overview The primary features and functions available in this release are:

Updated UR-1 – Registration Certificate for:

New and Transfer Registration

Renewal Registration

Plate Cancel Transactions

Updated RMV-1 - Title Application for:

New and Transfer Registration

Updated RMV-3 – Renewal and Amendment Form

Renewal Registration

Amendments of New and Used Vehicle Registration, Transfers and Transfer Reassignment

Polk has been updated to the latest version to support newer 2012 and 2013 Models

B. System Requirements

MAEVR requires a computer with the following minimum hardware configuration:

1024x768 or higher resolution video card and monitor

A high-speed internet connection (DSL, Cable, T1, etc.)

Keyboard and mouse

A laser printer for Registration Cards/Reports

One of the following operating systems with the recommended hardware configuration for the OS:

Windows XP Professional 800 MHz or faster processor 512 MB system memory 1.5GB available hard disk space

Windows Vista Business and Windows 7 Pro (32-bit) 1 GHz or faster processor 1 GB system memory 16 GB available hard disk space

Windows Vista Business and Windows 7 Pro (64-bit) 1 GHz or faster processor 2 GB of system memory 20 GB available hard disk space

Note: 250 MB of free hard disk space should be available for the EVR application and database files for a typical installation.

C. Installation Instructions New Installation

This application can be used for a New Install or for an upgrade to the new version.

During the installation process, click Next to accept the default setup values displayed for each of the

prompts.



Upgrade Installation

Clients must be on version 4.7A to upgrade to 4.8A

D. Enhancements

1. Updates to UR-1– Registration Certificate

a. The Certificate of Registration has been updated with the following changes:

RMV website: ‘www.massrmv.com’ and ‘Be first in line by going online at www.massrmv.com’ message has been added to the ‘Important Information for Vehicle Owners’ section.

b. The Lost Plate Receipt – CA19 has been updated with the following changes: ‘Be first in line by going online at www.massrmv.com’ message has been added to the bottom portion of the certificate.



c. The Plate Return Receipt has been updated with the following changes: ‘Be first in line by going online at www.massrmv.com’ message has been added to the bottom portion of the certificate.

2. Updates to RMV-1– Title Application

a. The Title Application – RMV-1 – Original Version has been updated with the following changes:

Top left of the RMV-1 form - MassDOT Logo updated, RMV web address has changed to

www.massrmv.com

Top right of the RMV-1 form - Form label “ORIGINAL” is rotated

Owner Info section Boxes 22 and 23 - Text changed to “Owner 1 License # / ID# / or SSN”,

“Owner 2 License # / ID# / or SSN”

New box added after Box 24 with Sole Proprietor info

New Fields added: 25a, 25b, 27a and 27b – Height/Sex

Box 32 text changed to add non-residential address, as “Residential Address or

Corp/Co/Organization Address (see block 24 and 29)”

Box 59 text changed to “Clerk/End User Initials:”

Section header names changed - Wording has been shortened or abbreviated (see changes in

red boxes)

b. The Title Application – RMV-1 – Registrant Version has been updated with the following changes:

3. Updates to RMV-3 – Renewal and Amendment Form

a. The Renewal and Amendment Form – RMV-3 – has been updated with the following changes:

Top left of the RMV-3 form - MassDOT Logo updated

Box 13 – For blank forms, default date of “12/1899” has been removed

Box 14 – Text label changed to add Sole Proprietor to “Name of Owner(s)/Co/Corp/or Sole

Proprietor”

Box 15 – Text label changed to include SSN for Owner #. FID # field requires SSN if Owner is a

Sole Proprietor

Box 18 – Text label changed to “I Have Changed:”

Box 24 – Text label grammar fixed to “Under Contract to City”

Box 29 – Text changed to “effective date of registration”

Box 30 – Text changed to “The undersigned hereby”; Text changed to “False statements are

punishable”

Bottom of RMV-3 form – Section is no longer gray shaded; Text label changed to “RMV Use

Only:”; Form version number “T21817-1212” has been added to bottom right of the form



4. Zip Code and Polk updates

The Zip Code Table has been updated to reflect changes to Cities and Towns.

The Polk Table has been updated to reflect newer 2012 and 2013 Models.
