Since joining as Assistant Conservator of Forests in Hamirpur, UP in 1990-92, carried out plantations as well as soil and water conservation measures on Watershed basis like Check dams, spurs, cotour trenching and ravine reclamations in forest and Gram Sabha area during range and sub-divisional duties. Various meeting with local people on survival of plantations and protection, regulated greening models, and their management were the main activities in these two years.

As DFO Almora in 1992, World food Program aided project on Watershed- Development with various activities like minor irrigation and water tanks for Agricultural production and drinking, Nala treatment with catchment based mechanical structures like spurs, check dams, retaining and breast walls, plantation of suitable species like grasses, shrubs and trees involving local people and participatory rural appraisal etc.

As DFO Tons Forest Division, Puola Uttrakhand in 1993-96 on “World Food Program aided watershed Development Project” was conceived and implemented with various activities like minor irrigation for agriculture drinking water, compost making, plantation through people participation on sustainable basis for increasing crop production and productivity, reducing soil and water erosion etc..

As DFO Barkot and Massoorie forest Division as additional charge during 1995 and 1996, Govt. of India, aided River Valley project on Yamuna Catchment Development was implemented for Soil and Water Conservation measures including plantation. It helped in reducing their erosion and stabilize watershed area besides increasing agriculture production.

As DFO Shiwalik, Saharanpur in 1997-2000, DRDA aided projects on Soil and Water Conservation and watershed based catchment development on participatory rural approach in various Khols/Nalas were implemented. They reduced soil erosion and increasing water table which helped in increasing crop production down in agriculture fields.

As Nodal Officer, Water Bodies, Delhi in 2011 onwards, carrying out catchment based development, rainwater harvesting, Sewage treatment, and plantation in and around water bodies. Ii is helping in increasing ground water level and is useful for more crop production.

11. Community Mobilization, Alternative Institutions and Participatory Rural Appraisal.

Optimum collection of medicinal plants and other minor forest products through Van Panchayats and Joint Forest management committees on watershed basis in Uttrakhand during 2004-08.

Mobilized Self Help Groups (SHGs) for medicinal plants cultivation and production, sustainable harvesting, processing and marketing in various watershed area of Dehradun and Tehri during 2003-08.

Working with alternative institution like JFMC, Van Panchayats, User Groups, SHG and NGO in Rural and Forest Fringe villages’ development in many watersheds of Uttrakhand during 1995-2008 for various related activities.

Implemented Joint Forest Management projects through JFMCs mobilization in various watersheds in Tons, Purola (Uttarkashi), Shiwalik (Saharanpur) and Dehradun Forest Division during 1995 to 2002.

12. Capacity building of Local Communities and Field Staff.

Various training and capacity building programs for field and office staff during 2003-08 on the issues required.

Organized various training and capacity building programs for Van Panchayats and JFMC in Uttrakhand during 1995-2008 for plantation management, fire control, Watershed development, medical plants and Bio-fuels related activities.

NTFP/MAP Collection and medicinal Plants and Marketing through Self Help Groups Van Panchayats and JFMC based participatory approach in various villages on water shed basis during 2004-08.

2008 Onwards As Chief Executive Officer of Delhi Parks & Gardens Society, Deptt. of Environment, Delhi Govt. effectively

involved:- Monitoring & coordinating the management of all the parks &

Gardens in National Capital Territory Delhi Govt. Coordination of greening and beautification of Delhi during

Common Wealth Games-2010. Development of New Art of Horticulture i.e. Mosaiculture and

Practiced during 2010-CWG in Delhi. Effectively Coordinating the management of Water Bodies in Delhi

with their owning agencies. Reviving the Horticulture Wing of Govt. of NCT of Delhi in its

2003-08 As Conservator of Forests cum Regional Manager in Forest Development Corporation:

Successfully streamlined the Sustainable Extraction of Timber and Minor Minerals in various watershed based forest areas as working was effected systematically on planned way.

Considerably increased the institutional profits by making the work faster, better and feasible besides reducing soil and water erosion.

Acted effectively being the Nodal Officer for Medicinal Plants in the State, developed Herbal Nurseries, conducted Medicinal Plants Surveys and Inventorisation, crated MPCAs and developed the first ever system for sustainable collection of medicinal plants on many watershed areas and their effective marketing through setting up of ‘HERBAL MANDIS’.

Successfully coordinated all the medicinal plants related activities between various stake holder like Forest Development Corporation, villagers, Forest Department, traders and the Government. Acknowledging its successful accomplishment various State Governments invited me having a status of a Consultant for developing action plans on medicinal plants in their respective states.

This has contributed largely for the Uttrakhand to a status of being a “Herbal State”.

Policy frame work, strategy formulation and implementation of Bio-fuels especially Bio-diesel activities development and JATROPHA PLANTATION in degraded areas through Public Private Partnership effectively by contributed.

2000-2002 Effectively coordinated all the State Head Quarters activities as DFO, Dehradun at the time of newly created Stateof Uttaranchal now Uttarakhand in 2000. Successfully conducted anti-encroachment & anti-poaching drives in Dehradun.Creation of Urban Forestry and eco–tourism parks in Dehradu watersheds.

1999-2000 New System of Baib (Bhabar) Grass management (Equitabledistribution among Local Bann Workers in Shiwalik Watershed areas.Gujjar Rehabilitation in the Watershed areas of Shiwaliks in Saharanpur Distt.Effectively Controlled illicit-felling especially CATECHU (Khair) and encroachment removal from forest area from 1998 onwards through People’s Participation in the Shiwalik Watershed Forests of Saharanpur Distt. making the entire Division Encroachment free.Successfully implemented Elephant Rehabilitation Project of GoI, MoEF in Shiwalik Wateshed reserves of Saharanpur Districts.

1993-1997 Successfully introduced and implemented a new technique of Resin extraction from Chirpine trees through “Rill Method of Resin Tapping” in various watershed areas of Tons Forest Division Uttarkashi (Uttrakhand).
