IT Experience:

SAP Experience: Technical and Functional Consultant, esp. CS, but also across modules

• I specialize in CS (= Customer Service = formerly: PM-SM), for which I have attended all courses, and was consultant internally for 4 years and independently for 1 year.

• Besides of that I am a Generalist: o Because the CS-module is, in fact, nothing else than a combination of PM master data

with PP, SD and QM, I have a good overview across the logistics in SAP; o As internal support for finance I learnt a lot not only about the FI and CO module

themselves, but also for the integration with logistics; o Since I have started as a technical consultant, I have got an insight into all major

modules of SAP R/3 (and partly R/2). • And finally, because I like programming (in contrast to most functional consultants), I am a

Developer, o who can become wrapped up in programming, o who develops neatly and well documented, o who is able, because of his functional knowledge, to create and carry out test cases on

his own, o who often proved to be a good error detector (via debugging etc.).

That’s why I can • am able to test a business procedure beginning with the customer inquiry over product

costing, sales order, planning, production order, purchasing order, goods receipt, invoice

- 5 / 20 -

Page 6: Curriculum vitae of Erlend WOLF - UPCmembers.chello.at/erlend.wolf/WOLFErlend_CV_EN.pdf · Curriculum vitae of Erlend WOLF ... CS LO836 Customer Service: Controlling and Reporting

receipt, order confirmation, delivery, billing, dunning, payment receipt, profit analysis all on my own;

• am able to do customizing in many major modules (except EC, PS, HR, TR and AA) on the level of a very good internal consultant (i.e. I know many customizing entries and, in particular, those important for roll outs, but, of course (except for CS), not all of them, nor all the fields and impacts in all of the releases, as a specialised consultant does/should do);

• am able to develop programs in all modules (except EC, PS and TR).

Targets/Ideal Opportunities • First target is to get an CS expert; • Gaining experience in BW, for which I think I have good preconditions based on my technical

orientation and my certification, but, so far, had no opportunity to prove this apart from writing specifications for BW reports and testing them;

• Opportunities which include both consulting and development, and it can be development alone, too;

• Opportunities where I (and the customer) can benefit from my broad knowledge (SAP as well as other fields) and language capabilities.

Experience quotas Logistics: 35% (2,8 yrs.) Functional: 55% (4,4 yrs.) Finance: 20% (1,6 yrs.) Logistics: 25% (2,0 yrs.) Finance: 15% (1,2 yrs.)

SAP in total: 8 yrs. (since 11/1995)

Technical: 45% (3,6 yrs.) Human Resources: 05% (0,4 yrs.)

(using BAPIs) and material movement documents for creation of CS Installed Base

SAP R/2: • ABAP/4-report development, Data Dictionary (new tables with maintenance dynpro for TM31),

in following modules: RM-MAT, RM-E, RM-PPS, RF, RK • Customizing: RK, RM-E • Application: RM-MAT, RM-E, RM-PPS, RK

Examples of fulfilled requests: • "Detailed invoice": there should be a detailed list of all the materials used and the labour consumed

to a sales order item containing the repair of a machine, by using SD and PP, but not CS: • Customizing: new sales document type and item categories that do not create requirements,

have a normal pricing, no document flow in SD nor in FI or CO, etc. • Report to create the detailed lists to all “service sales items” based on the parts lists, or on the

components in the production order for a quotation, or on the material movements in case of an already completed production order; plus labour cost in form of a service material, depending on the material pricing group of the repaired material. Besides, the program supports transferring the resulting net value into the service sales order item, and printing.

• Adapting form and print report of the order confirmation for printing the detailed lists • Order settlement run takes more than 1,5 days: My task is to find out why and perhaps solve the

problem. My steps (as far as I remember) were: • Try to start settlement job manually and get, beyond others, the system message that there were

too many orders to be displayed. When debugging, I realize that there are much more orders selected than it should be in that period. Suspect that deletion flag is ignored, or even not set.

• In the settlement job protocol I notice that the deletion flag is not set for the old orders. • On manually setting the deletion flag in an example order, I get the error message that

confirmations are still missing.

• I debug the program and realize that an entry in the AFRU table obstructs the setting of the deletion flag. Furthermore, the AFRU table contains a lot of such entries which expect a time confirmation (HR-connection).

• I ask both the responsible functional consultant and the key user, if time confirmation has been requested. They both say no.

• After having read SAP notes for etiology and possible procedures, I change customizing so that the time confirmation is not necessary any more.

• (Hard-)Delete the open confirmations in the AFRU table and other tables. • Test whether deletion flags can be set now. Test is positive. • After having talked to the system administrators, I run the deletion flag setting job one part after

the other (due to possible overflows of the archive log due to the large number of orders). • Result: order settlement job takes only 2 hours.

Mr. Erlend WOLF, born on the 1st January 1967, Austrian citizen, entered our company on 16th June 1993. At that time there was a project to change from a central mainframe to a client/server implementation. He has been introduced as an IT organizer and started with programming on the mainframe: The language was COBOL and he used the COBOL-generator TELON for IMS-DB/DC. Due to his already existing knowledge he was assigned to teams for parts of the “Information Warehouse” project. The first subproject was to automate data transfer among our heterogenous systems: IBM mainframe, VAX/VMS, Unix, Windows NT and Novell. The second subproject comprised the online availability of press news in the PC network by WWW. During the project “Information Warehouse” he gained or extended his knowledge on “World Wide Web”, Unix and Internet tools, such as E-Mail, FTP and GOPHER. Furthermore, Mr. Wolf should then participate in the standard software system SAP R/3 and therefore received a basic training for ABAP/4. According to the project, he had to accomplish tasks at every stage of the project, starting with the detailed analysis, over the outline, programming, test, go-live and maintenance. Mr. Wolf proved to be very integrative in teams and accomplished his tasks to the fullest satisfaction of his superiors. He showed large keenness and joy at his work. It should be especially mentioned that he is willing to do further training in his leisure time. The contract of employment was cancelled on Mr. Wolf’s request on 31st October 1995. We thank Mr. Wolf for his valuable work in our enterprise and wish him all the best for his future. …
