NEWS FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Robyn Brooks Unfortunately over the last week we had some
plants stolen from our garden, which was publicly
outlined in the Sunraysia Daily and on our
Facebook page. The students were really
disappointed, after going to the trouble of
designing, costing and planting up the new
garden. We can gladly say that out of this
negativity, the Irymple South community have
provided some positivity. Thank you very much to Terri Zaccone, Jeremy Bruton and
Noah Bennett and their grandparents Ron and Judy Collingburn and Greening
Mildura. Their kind contribution has definitely put a smile back on the student’s faces.
Grandparents Day
We invite all Grandparents to school
on Monday 28th October. Students
love to show their grandparents how
they learn in the 21st century. The
grandparents are invited to attend
school from 9:00am to 11:30am. Please pencil this date into your calendar! We will
provide our grandparents with a special morning tea.
DAY FOR THE SAMOANS
Next Friday, 1st of November, Cooper, Hope,
Hunter and Ruben are running a day for the
country of Samoa. On this day we are asking all
students to dress up in red, white and/or blue (no
extravagant dress-ups required) and to bring
along a school supply donation. This could
include a packet of pens, pencils, notebook,
some erasers etc. It doesn’t have to be brand
new, just usable and in good condition. We are
doing this to help support children who are
struggling at school in Samoa as their schools
don’t have the supplies they need.

Colour Run
On December 6th,
Hanna, Natalie and
Mikayla will be holding a
colour run. A colour run is
where you have to run
through an obstacle
course and try to get
squirted by colourful, skin
-friendly dye. On the day
you are required to wear
a white t-shirt and old
pants. We are fundraising
for Kitty’s Crib and the
school.
A huge thanks to all those families who
have created an online profile for their
child and started the fundraising
journey. Please be aware that there is no
pressure from Irymple South that you must
participate in the fundraising for this
Leaders of Evolution project. The amount
of money raised by students is completely
optional. All of the students will still be able
to be involved in the Colour Run in
December, whether they raise $0 or $1000.
On Friday October 11th all students
received a sponsorship form and letter, the
more money you put in, the bigger the
prize!
Key dates are:
October 11th – sponsorship forms and letter
went home
November 15th – all money due back (NO
money to be deposited into the school‘s
account)
November 15th – November 20th – order

November 20th. Hats

hats in the yard at all times from now on. If
a student does not have a hat they must sit
under the shade outside their class door or

Our school actively supports Sunsmart
policies. School hats are available to House Sports Shirts

2020, now is the time to do it!
Please note these can not be bought off
the shelf in the store, they are purely an
online order.

December for the arrival to occur during
the first three weeks of next year. Once
again, please be aware that these are
online orders only and are the same sizing

Special Forever
Students in Grade 2 have created artworks for the
‘Special Forever: Voices of the Children’ exhibition. The
exhibition showcases work by children from across the
district. Opening for the exhibition is at 11:00am on
Saturday 26th October at the Mildura Arts Centre. The exhibition runs until
Sunday December 1st.
The students took a ‘selfie’ of their special place at school, drew a picture
of their special place and wrote about why it is their special place. They
then created a page for a book about the special places at ISPS. Each
class created a book which will be on display at the Arts Centre.
A copy of each student’s page has been uploaded to SeeSaw.

House Colour Walk
For every Friday in November (starting on the 8th) we would love to
see everyone dress in their house colours. Starting at 8:30 in the
morning, we will be walking laps of the Cross Country track and
recording the laps. Family members are welcome to join in the
walk to collect points for their House too! What a great way for
those students who purchased a House Shirt to get some wear.
These will still be normal school days, with normal learning but just
a twist with our House Colours.
This is a Leaders of Evolution project being organised by Claire,
Danica and Rhiannon

resilience. The School Camp program, which occurs for all year levels in Term 4, is not
included in the Parent Payment. All costs will be kept to a minimum and may change.
