Principal’s messageThankfully the rain has come! It was so nice waking up to the sound of rain over the weekend. Hopefully it will wash away all the germs, dust and pollen and the farmers can start sowing their crops.

District swimming last Friday at Boorowa was a great success. We

had several swimmers achieve personal bests and qualify for Western Region Trials in a few weeks’ time. Thanks to Miss Dixon for organising our contingent to Boorowa and thank you to all the parents who drove and cheered on our kids, it was a great day.

Meerkat productions will be visiting our school next Monday. The Performance is called Bully Bull Ring. The characters all perform their own song & dance numbers to help Bellamy understand different approaches to resolving the issues of bullying. The show focuses on strategies to manage both online and face to face bullying. The characters also discuss Emotional Intelligence as Bellamy tries to understand and manage her emotional responses. It includes lesson plans and a targeted question time incorporating the ideas of programs such as “You Can Do It” & “Better Buddies” just to name a few. The cost is $7.50, whilst it is not compulsory it would be great if everyone in Primary could attend.

PLSPs meetings for eligible students are being conducted on Tuesday 6th March 2018. A note will be sent home with your appointment time. This needs to be confirmed as soon as possible.

PSSA Cricket will be played at The Oval next Thursday 8th March. Please return all permission notes ASAP. Thanks you to Miss Toovey and Mr Traves for coaching our students, I’m sure it will be a very completive day against Grenfell PS. All spectators welcome!

This year we have had 14 children make it through to Western, on Friday the 16th March, at Dubbo. Anyone who came 1st, 2nd or 3rd, including relay teams have made it through to West-ern. We wish you all the best of luck. If you’d like your times, come and see me on Tuesday. Also congratulations to Eden Hawker who was Senior Girl Champion. Results are as follows. M.Dixon

Head LiceThere have been a few cases of head lice in our school. The only way to stop the spread throughout the school is if all parents continue to keep a watchful eye on their childrens hair and if any trace of head lice is found, appropriate treatment is administered.

Road SafetyAll students are encouraged to be dropped off and picked up on Belmore St. If it is a quick drop off it simply means that you drive in and drop off or pick up. You should only be in this zone for about ten seconds and if you are first in line please pull up to the sign. If your child is not at the gate waiting or cannot get out of the car on their own then you will need to park further down the road. Please advise all family members of this situation. If you are entering/ exiting on Tilga St. Please use the crossing only. No one is allowed to cross on the crest of the hill near our front gate, it is far too dangerous. Thank you for ensuring your children are safe!

Coles Sports for SchoolsOur school has registered and Coles will reward you with a voucher for each $10 spent. Schools can then redeem the vouchers for Sporting equipment. We are accepting vouchers at school and at Coles in Cowra. Your support would be very much appreciated. Look for the Coles cardboard box at our office.

Meerkat ‘Bully Bull Ring’ PerformanceMeerkat productions will be visiting our school next Monday. The Performance is called Bully Bull Ring. The characters all perform their own song & dance numbers to help Bellamy understand different approaches to resolving the issues of bullying. The show focuses on strategies to manage both online and face to face bullying. The cost is $7.50, whilst it is not compulsory it would be great if everyone in primary could attend. Please return permission notes and money to the office by Thursday 1st March.,

Class in Focus: Year 3/4

Year 3/4 enjoyed learning about mixing primary colours to make new colours. In a visual arts lesson they were given blue, yellow and red paint and were only allowed to use their thumb to mix and print thumb prints

onto paper.

3/4 created many wonderful colours and printed some wonderful pineapples for the

classroom.
