Saints and Gratitude

Everyday Saint by Young June Lew (2012)

After this I had a vision of a great multitude, which no one could count, from every nation, race, people, and tongue. They stood before the throne and before the Lamb, wearing white robes and holding palm branches in their hands.

Revelation 7:9 This month of November begins with a Mass on All Saints Day, a day when we celebrate our communion with those saints, named and unnamed, who have gone before us. It is a chance to reflect on the unity that is at the core of the CSJ spirituality. We offer our requests for their intercession with confidence that they understand life’s struggles. We offer our prayers of gratitude for the example they gave us. There is no better way to honor our beloved friend, Mr. Steven Karlin, than to recognize and be grateful for the vibrancy which he brought to our lives. With grief, we experience a deep sadness because of our loss. That sadness reveals to us that we had something we loved. Sadness paves the way to gratitude. And because of what we believe about the Incarnation and the Resurrection, we have hope that this loss is not a permanent one - we will one day be united with the whole communion of angels and saints. Sadness, gratitude, hope. Let this month be one of embracing all of these as we journey toward our own sainthood. Have a blessed month and be assured of my prayers for you,

Sharing the State of the Heart

every Monday Activity 1 (11AM)

Campus Ministry (M02)

Join us every Monday to spend a few minutes reflecting on our lives! This event is a casual space for students to come spend some time sharing about the highs and lows of life and exploring how God might be moving in the day to day. This is a non-judgmental environment of support for walking this journey together and conversations are led by Peer Ministers. Not sure if it’s for you? Come and see! You are welcome to bring your lunch.

2017 Mission Trips

The 2017 Spring Break Guatemala Mission Trip is full.

Jerusalem Farm Kansas City, MO July 23-29, 2017

This trip will be an opportunity to enter into an intentional living community with members who seek to live their faith radically

through the four cornerstones of simple living, community, prayer and service to our neighbors. We

will be participating in home repair projects around Kansas City.

juniors’ final project selection are due on Nov 16 to Ms. Snyder. Given that the volunteer spots are first come first served, students are encouraged to take initiative early. Students are welcome to schedule an appointment with Ms. Snyder if they are needing help.

★ Seniors who have not finished their phase 2 requirement should look at doing that in the days they have off school in November.

Freshman Service

“For in him were created all things in heaven and on earth” (Col. 1:16)

Our Freshman Service Day was a great success! Students collected over 10 different types of native

grass and wildflower seeds that will be used to help preserve the prairie.

The seeds collected provide environments for insect, butterflies, and birds who rely on these plants

for survival. Thanks Class of 2020 for protecting our Common Home!
