Welcome Back! Lucton certainly camealive on Tuesday as over 70 children racedin through the gates looking really smartand raring to go. We welcomed 17 intoReception Class who boldly took over theplayground as if it were their own. Ihonestly think that it was their parents whowere more nervous. Shouted questions, comparisons of shoes, what had happenedover the holidays… and so it went on.With the parents looking on, they troopedin for their first day of the new year withnot only new uniforms but also new classteachers as well. We are now at the end ofthe week and all of our new starters havetaken to Lucton life like ducks to water.

So, what have they been up to? Well:biscuit tasting, number placing, life cycles,Romans, drama, painting (including somehair strands) learning to use a knife andfork, finding where the toilets are,Microsoft Office and where to put work, learning that computer screens aren’t likeiPads! Oh the days have been filled andpacked indeed and Year 1 have even sortedthe first Assembly of the School Year.Everyone has been swimming and hadGames lessons. French has been heard andthe sound of instruments being played. Year5 have discovered what instruments theyare going to be tackling from next week
