Leave-behinds are a great way to showcase your best work, as well as leave a lasting impression in an employers mind.

9. Discretion online is everything

You should think carefully about the information that is posted on social media websites. It’s traceable, and can be recovered even if you think it’s been deleted. Employers may even have questions about your web presence during the interview.

8. READ, WRITE, “PUBLICLY RELATE”, ETC. Always stay current with social media websites, and gain as much information as possible. Family and friends can provide great opportunities to practice PR work.

7. TEAMWORK

In some professional settings you may be required to work with a team. Practice successful team building skills by being open-minded and respectful. Listen to everyone’s ideas and keep a positive attitude.

6. What NOT to wear Distracting jewelry Too much perfume A heavy or bulky purse Open toe shoes Loud nail colors, or too long nails Short skirts with no hosiery Too much cleavage

5. Carry yourself wherever you go.

Carry a Business card everywhere you go. You never know when a great opportunity may present itself.

You should arrive to the interview at least 20 minutes early. This will give you ample time to prepare yourself mentally, ask questions about need-to-know info from current employees, and simply take in the environment and the inner workings of the office.

Social media has leveled the playing field. It’s important to network, so that you have the advantage of being able to ask people how they got to do what they do, gain a greater understanding of things you don’t understand and have a competitive edge, as well as build your name.
