ATA Member Lunch and Learn SeriesSession 6: Introduction of the Twitter App

Overview of Twitter/why should you use it?

- Twitter is a microblog that allows you to network in 140 characters or less

- Allows you to share your company news, blogs and updates with your audience

- Able to interact with your customers

- Using tools like Hootsuite, Tweetdeck, etc. you can monitor what people are saying about your brand, your company, etc.

Overview of Twitter/why should you use it?

How does the Twitter app work with LinkedIn?

- Connects your Twitter account with your LinkedIn account and automatically updates without you having to do anything

Do's and Don’ts with the LinkedIn Twitter App

- LinkedIn and Twitter are two completely different platforms: LinkedIn is very professional and Twitter is more relaxed.

- Keep that in mind when thinking about connecting the two

- Twitter is fast-paced and has a lot more content/posts shared per day/hour/etc. than LinkedIn.

- Do you want to share all that content on LinkedIn too?

- If your Twitter account is used strictly for business, connecting the two profiles is good

- Not everyone on LinkedIn may be familiar with Twitter, so they may not understand RTs, mentions (@s) and hashtags (#).

Do's and Don’ts with the LinkedIn Twitter App

- Saves time - You can now post all at once - You can update your settings on LinkedIn

so it only displays tweets that have the hashtag #in or #li to prevent all your tweets from being shared on your LinkedIn profile.

New Feature For LinkedIn Groups - Polls

• LinkedIn just recently added a poll option when posting contento You can now get more feedback and engagement

from your group members
