Training activities Training has been an important part
of activities since 2005.
More than 30 training sessions have been conducted in different countries in the region since 2005.
Since 2006, training was focused on transition to IPv6.

6Deploy AfriNIC has joined the 6Deploy consortium which projects are funded
by the European Commission and supported by the of 13 organisations of composing the consortium (including Cisco, AfriNIC, LACNIC, RENATER, Consulintel… etc) to support the deployment of IPv6 in Europe and developing countries
Duration: 30 months Total budget: 1.284.776 Euros Funding from the EC: 1.000.000 Euros
Activities will include physical training sessions, e-learning platform, development of deployment guideline, providing technical support for deployment, etc..
First event in Africa will take place during our training session in Nairobi Kenya (17-20 June 2008)

Changes in 2008 Fee Schedule IPv6 Fees
For already established LIRs (with IPv4 allocation(s)): Not to count the IPv6 prefix allocation in calculating the category of already
established LIRs.
For New LIRs: Allow 50% discount on the initial setup fee and 100% discount on the first
year's membership fee for a LIR with IPv6 only allocation. Allow respectively 75%, 50%, 25% discount on the membership fee for the
three the subsequent years.

MyAfriNIC: AfriNIC Member Portal MyAfriNIC: a portal to allow LIRs to easily
interact with AfriNIC and manage their resources.
Launched in September 2007 166 registered users from 116 different
organisations (~50% of active LIRs)
Online payment now available for members
Work on a version 2 of the portal (to integrate some features as result of feedback from Members) has started.
