The Sacramento Banana Festival will present the 6th Annual Banana Festival, celebrating:

The event is scheduled for August 8th, 2015 through August 9, 2015 at William Land Park in Sacramento, California. The yellow fruit has become a star for this festival that finds everything about this yellow fruit "a-peeling." We serve it up in main entrees, beverages, breakfasts and desserts. It’s the center of numerous contests, from cooking to arts to pageants, and the theme of the 5-k run. The festival brings people together to celebrate community, food and fun! This year's festival will celebrate healthy environment, lifestyles and eating. The event also highlights different cultures in Asia, Africa and the Americas that use the banana as a source of food, art and culture. Last year’s 2014 Banana Festival attracted over 15,000 attendees. This year we will continue collaboration with the Ventura, Ca. Banana Festival to attract audiences in cities throughout Northern California. This collaboration will strengthen our outreach to families on a regional level as we celebrate America's #1 Fruit: the Banana!

Banana Festival sponsors have a special opportunity to be part of a tasty community festival, celebrating multiculturalism as a hub for the Banana Fruit, and reach thousands of area residents with their brand, products and messaging. Why is the festival such a major event? The mission of the Banana Festival is to enhance the community's knowledge of art, culture, food, entertainment, diversity, food and health & wellness in an elaborate, positive and fun environment. The Banana Festival desires to inspire, ignite and enrich our community, and do this by making the festival accessible and affordable to a wide range of participants. With free parking and a low $5.00 entrance fee, we hope to provide an opportunity for the community to unite and work towards the stability, development and vitality of cultural history, arts and diversity.

Our goal is to:

• Support and strengthen the value of art, diversity, health and cultural education for children, disadvantaged, abused and victimized youth and their families.

• Support and strengthen the role of local artists in our community. • Increase awareness of historical and cultural values found in the visual and performing

arts • Enhance the role of culture and the arts in improving the quality of life for our community • Provide access to information, assistance and creative alternatives for healthy lifestyles.

Who does the Festival Support?

Funds support programs and outreach services to over 15,000 children and youth annually. Children and youth are engaged in free art education, youth development services, health & wellness, mentoring and healing through the arts.

On-site signage, product sampling, inclusion on our heavily-trafficked website, inclusion in the daily schedule of events and the goodwill associated with one of the most unique festivals in Sacramento are just a few of the benefits of Festival sponsorship.

Sponsors may choose to target specific segments of the Fair’s vast audience--such as families with young children, teens, or seniors--by focusing on one of the Fair’s many special areas or days.

• Village Green Fence: Inclusion of sponsor logo and commercials on Village Green Fencing facing Freeport Blvd Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

• Festival Marketing ads: Sponsor recognition ad space in the Festival Marketing ads, direct mailed to more than 60,000 households in Sacramento City and surrounding counties.

• Daily Schedule: Inclusion of sponsor logo in each day's schedule. 9,000 are printed each day and distributed on-grounds.

• General Publicity: Enjoy inclusion in press releases, festival guide, social media and e-mail marketing campaigns, and on-grounds public address announcements.

• Right of First Refusal: Be first in line for same sponsorship at the 2015 Sacramento Banana Festival.

Sacramento Banana Festival 2015 Sponsorship Opportunities

2 Days at the Festival ($3,000 - $10,000) The Day at the Festival sponsorship is the most comprehensive sponsorship available. For one day (or two), the Festival is yours. Depending on your target audience, you choose where you want to be seen. Possible Day at the Festival activities: sampling, give-aways at the gate, signage, commercial on the main street fence, logo/slogan on the Electronic Billboard, inclusion in Daily Schedule and the Festival Program. Sponsors will receive a special 'Named hour' on their day. There are many possibilities for sponsor involvement in contests and special venues throughout the day.

Top Banana Spirit Award ($1,500) Three Community members are recognized during the Banana Festival for their labor of love to their community or charity. The sponsor will announce and issue the awards on behalf of their company.

Banana Split Youth Art Scholarship Award ($1000) One community youth pursuing art as a career will be chosen to receive an Art Scholarship award. The sponsor will announce and issue the award on behalf of their company.

Banana Fest Mini-Floats ($2000) A highly visible and popular feature of the Festival is the daily parade around the festival grounds with custom built "mini-floats," small enough to be featured on a golf cart. Exposure to our Festival audience is immense since we are only offering this opportunity to three businesses.

Smashed Chef Challenge ($10,000) A popular feature of the festival is the Smashed Chef challenge. Chef Richard Pannell will coordinate a day of action inside the Smashed Chef Challenge pavilion. Held Saturday morning at 11:15 a.m. Chefs share their expertise, answer questions and even offer food samples for the audience to enjoy. Your sponsorship of the Smashed Chef Challenge will generate thousands of impressions and is a prime display space for the venue sponsor.

Banana Mania Teen Zone ($5,000) All afternoon, dozens of teen-related organizations gather for a program of entertainment, contests (Teen Talent Contest) and fun. The Teen Zone sponsor gets prime location in the Park, as well as opportunities to distribute information and/or products to teens all over the festival grounds.

Banana Queen ($1,500) Participants from Sacramento and other surrounding cities are welcome to participate. Participants are judged on facial beauty, smile, personality, attire and modeling. The Queen will receive a cash award, trophy, sash and crown. The sponsor name will be announced throughout the competition and their logo placed on the sashes.

Go Banana Health and Wellness Pavilion ($10,000) The Sacramento Banana Festival is host to the Go Banana Health and Wellness Pavilion. The Wellness Pavilion provides resources to festival goers by such participants as Molina Health, California Health Council, and a large variety of other health and wellness providers. Festival goers can get health coverage enrollment assistance, free dental screenings, flu shots, blood pressure checks; body massages booths, wellness activities and, lots of fun and games on how the Banana is beneficial for a healthy life style

Each visitor to the Pavilion receives a copy of the Go Banana Health and Wellness Brochure (a prime spot for sponsorship acknowledgement), with details about the pavilion, health tips and exhibitors. The Go Banana Health and Wellness sponsor may choose to use a display space just outside the entrance of the pavilion.

Banana Salsa Tent ($5,000) The Banana Salsa tent will engage festival-goers in a variety of Banana Salsa and chip tasting opportunities. The Banana Salsa Tent will offer one exclusive sponsor the opportunity to reach a focused audience through give-always, signage, and announcements.

Banana Sundae Cultural Village ($2,500 - $10,000) A family favorite! Kids and families get to learn about diversity and experience varied cultural interactive and hands on activities. A variety of sponsorship options exist in this area.

DIY - Do It Yourself! ($3,000 per area) A new feature added in 2013. We'll have two areas set up throughout the festival where festival-goers can try their creative hand and learn a bit about the activity of the day. Sponsors for this will be listed in the Daily Schedule as well as having banner and naming opportunities.

Dancing with Our Community Stars - Dance Contest & Charity Fundraiser ($5,000) Eight community stars are paired up with professional salsa dancers to raise money for local charities. It’s the HOTTEST dance contest of the year. This opportunity also allows the sponsor to have hands on engagement as the commentator of the contest and to hang one banner on the stage backdrop during the festivities.

Banana Bread Path ($1,500) The Banana Bread path will provide signage opportunity for one exclusive sponsor. Through this sponsorship, the business name and logo will be exposed to thousands of festival goers. Local nonprofit organizations will serve samples of their special Banana Bread recipes to visitors who get to stroll down a tropical path full of delicious Banana Bread and taste all the samples. After tasting all the delicious samples, festival goers can vote for the Banana Bread they like the best by putting $$ in the organization’s donation jar. The organization gets to keep all the money in their donation jar and festival goers get to taste lots of Banana Bread.

Banana Composting ($2,000) Composting is fun! It is also easy. Festival-goers will learn how to make compost and how to use it to grow beautiful gardens. Kids will also get to plant Banana seeds.

Petting Zoo ($3,000) The Petting Zoo offers young festival-goers a chance to get up close and personal with all sorts of animals, including sheep, pigs, goats, deer and llamas. The Petting Zoo, located across from the Kids Zone, is open each day of the festival, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., and is free with festival admission. The Petting Zoo sponsor will be recognized with signage and mentions in all schedules and publications. The Petting Zoo is a must-see for every young family attending the Festival.

The Big Peel Chill Zone Sponsorship ($1,500) The Chill Zone is a tented area with misters. Sponsors are offered signage opportunities on the benches in the area. Two large signs will be displayed on the benches recognizing the sponsor's name, logo and motto if applicable. Corporations who sponsor a canopy inside The Big Peel Chill Zone will get naming opportunities such as “The Big Peel Chill Zone.”

Banana Jungle Kids Zone ($10,000) The Banana Jungle Kids Zone is a prime entertainment venue at the Festival. With a seating capacity of 200, the Banana Jungle Kids Zone is home to the Banana Sundae Cultural Village and a variety of family programming. It is also near the Children's Carnival rides.

Magicians, Jugglers, ventriloquists and other traditional variety acts entertain all ages on the Banana Jungle Kids Stage. This is classic festival entertainment sharing space with a full roster of participation events. Festivalgoers of all ages will be blowing bubbles, music making, banana decorating and participating in the Banana split eating contest scheduled throughout the day. Families are encouraged to make the Kids Zone their home base at the Festival. Kids can play in the Banana and Pajama coloring village, watch a show, or just catch a quick nap on the grass as their parents take a breather. The Parents Rest Station (located in the Kids Area) has changing tables and armchairs just right for nursing babies. The Parents Rest Station is open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. Kids Zone activities begin at 11:30 a.m. and continue until 7 p.m.

In addition to signage in the Kids Zone, the sponsor can be recognized on 10,000 "If I Look Lost" stickers that are distributed to children as they arrive at the Festival, reminders that lost children are to be taken to the Kids Zone, which houses the Lost Child tent. In addition to signage and recognition in all maps and schedules, the Banana Jungle Kids Stage sponsor has the opportunity to have a tie-in to one or more contests on the stage—a prime opportunity for sponsor involvement.

Shade Park Stage ($50,000) Shade Park, home of the Park Stage, is the place to be for music each day of the Banana Festival, starting at 10:00 a.m. and continuing until 7:00 p.m. We book headline concert entertainment with everything from country to swing, reggae, salsa, rock and Brazilian jazz. The Park Stage line-up has something for everyone. This shady spot has benches and picnic tables, as well as a small dance floor, and is located right in the middle of the festival. Festival-goers of all ages are invited to settle in to watch the show and even dance along if they feel like it. Nearby vendors offer a wide variety of food, and the people-watching is outstanding. Your sponsorship of the Park Stage will generate thousands of impressions and is a prime display space for the venue sponsor.

Exhibit Tent Naming Rights ($2,500) The heart of the Banana Festival is the Exhibits Program. From quilts to children's art projects, the exhibit tent boasts the blue ribbons that are recognized as the Banana Festival icon. Hundreds of our city’s youth and adults are showcased in one of our many exhibit tents. As the Exhibit Tent sponsor, you will be recognized as the major contributor to the awards offered to those participating exhibitors. These cash prizes and awards will be given to the exhibitors with recognition to the sponsor as the partial underwriter of the program. Signage opportunity both inside and outside the tent is offered with this partnership.
