Payment OptionsTuition and fees are required by the due date whether or not a bill has been viewed. If students have questions about their accounts, they may contact the cashier at 1-800-221-8308, ext. 8933. They also can view their accounts online through ZipLine, where students can find themost up-to-date informationonduedates andamounts due.

There are several ways students can pay their accounts:• At the cashier’s window with cash, check or money

order.• On the Web with debit or credit card (American Express,MasterCardorDiscover)andfeesmayapply or e-checks at www.wayne.uakron.edu, click on ZipLine.

• Financial aid money applied to your account. • Installment Payment Plan (IPP) contract signed

Cancellation/Refund Policy Once registered, students are responsible for all fees and grades assessed for those classes unless they cancel their registration. The student assumes the risk of all changes in business or personal affairs.

Students risk having all or part of their registration cancelled if their bills are not paid by the due date; however, nonpayment of fees does not guarantee enrollment cancellation. Unpaid balances are subject to a $50 late fee.

Tammy J. AubleWhen I met with the folks at The

University of Akron Wayne College, they listened to my concerns as a non-traditional student. I had been thinking about going to school for several years, but was hesitant to actually do it because I had been out of high school for so long. At 40 years old, I wanted to get a degree

the fastest possible way. They told me of a new program, the Technical Experience Assessment, which guides students in the process of assembling a portfolio describing past work, life, and educational experiences in hopes of gaining college credit.Ienrolledinthecourseandsubmittedmyfirstportfolioin December 2007. I cannot even explain how excited I was when an email arrived a few weeks later stating that my portfolio had been approved.

KnowingthatmyportfoliowassuccessfulandthatIhadreceived college credit was a huge motivator for me. Not only had I saved hundreds and hundreds of dollars, but more importantly to me (as a mom with three active kids), I had saved 16 weeks in a classroom.

The TEA program has proven invaluable to furthering my education. Not only did it give me fresh insight into what I had already experienced and accomplished in my life, it got me ready for the next chapter. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the program and the awesome instruction I received. It truly made a tremendous impact on my life and helped me to get moving on the right path to doing what I should be doing.
