Update on Cortex Commons and Streetscape Construction December 12, 2014

We’re continuing to make progress with the Cortex streetscape work. The weather has slowed us down a little, but we’re pretty close to the schedule we communicated last month. Here is the updated construction traffic map:

Please remember that bad weather could wreak havoc on this schedule, but we’ll do all we can to stay on target and get the streets open again.

BJC’s sewer work is now underway on Duncan immediately west of Boyle, so this will prevent vehicle access to the Cortex 1 parking lot from the east until early January. However, a pedestrian path between Cortex 1 and @4240 will open next week via a sidewalk on the north side of Duncan, which should make life a little easier for those who travel between the two buildings.

The permanent closure of the driveway from Boyle to @4240 has been delayed pending resolution of a utility conflict; we’ll let you know as soon as we have a solid date for this closure, and will keep the driveway open as long as it’s feasible to do so. But closing the driveway will signal the start of the full construction of the new park space, so we will close this road to start work in this area as soon as possible.
