A yellow level Travel Advisory has been issued for unincorporated roads in Hamilton County, effective Friday afternoon, Jan. 13, until further notice. This is the lowest level of local travel advisory and means that routine travel or activities may be restricted in areas because of a hazard- ous situation. Individuals should use caution or avoid those areas. Unincorporated roads are those roads maintained by Hamilton County, usually roads outside cities and towns. The National Weather Service has Hamilton County under a Freezing Rain Advisory from 7 p.m. Friday until 1 p.m. Sunday so the travel advisory was issued in antic- ipation of slippery roads. Watch carefully as portions of what may appear to be dry pavement can quickly turn into icy patches. Elevated roads such as overpasses and bridg- es tend to freeze first. Ice accumulation up to .20 inch is possible. Harold Edward Hamm 86 of Noblesville passed away on the morning of Wednes-day January 11 2017 at his home He was born on March 21 1930 to William and Kate (McReynolds) Hamm in Inman Vir-ginia

Harold was a 22-year veteran of the United States Air Force where he was also a member of the Sargeantrsquos Club He served as past commander of Frank E Huntzinger IN Post 45 of the No-blesville American Legion and was the groundskeeper supervi-sor for Fox Prairie Golf Course Harold then worked in mainte-nance for University Hospital in Gainesville FL before moving back to Noblesville to be closer to his family He enjoyed fishing hunting and family gatherings

Harold is survived by his sisters Carolyn Sue (Allen) Riley and Betty Salley broth-ers Don (Sue) Hamm Les (Beverly) Hamm and Bob (Avis) Hamm as well as several nieces amp nephews

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Olive Hamm in 2015 brothers Gary Hamm Richard Allen Hamm William Hamm and Bonham Hamm sisters Margie Story and Lorraine Lindsey

The Miller girls played tough with theEagles in the first half with Emily Kiser andMaddie Knight making 3-pointers Kiserwound up with 10 points in the first quarterhelping Noblesville to a 17-14 lead late inthe period

But Zionsville finished the quarter on a6-0 run to lead 20-17 and pushed thatadvantage to 31-22 early in the secondperiod The Millers scored six unansweredpoints to cut the lead to 31-28 with BrookeHerron making a pair of foul shots andKailyn Mertens scoring a basket

Rebounding was the difference in thegame said Noblesville coach DonnaBuckley Theyre so long and athletic andthey dominated the boards and we gavethem too many second chanceopportunities

Zionsville jumped ahead 21-19 late inthe quarter before Flinchum converted a rarefour-point play - he was fouled whilemaking a 3-pointer then made thesubsequent free throw That gave the Millersa 23-21 lead that would stand going intohalftime

First half we accomplished some of ourobjectives offensively said Millers coachBrian McCauley Those objectives weregetting the ball where Noblesville wanted itand making shots - the Millers were 9-of-17from the field in the first half

The Eagles opened the second half byscoring nine unanswered points to lead30-23 Zionsville allowed Noblesville justsix points in the third quarter and after RyanBarnes ended their first run with a pair offoul shots the Eagles scored six more pointsbefore Mertens and Duncan closed theperiod with baskets

Duncan opened the fourth quarter witha 3 and that put the Millers within 36-32But Zionsville closed the game on a 22-7run including an 11-of-12 effort from thefree throw line Meanwhile the Eagles onlyallowed Noblesville four trips to the line inthe entire game the Millers were 3-of-4

Indianapolis Navy Week is sched-uled for August 7-13 2017 coincident with the Indiana State Fair and is de-signed to give area residents an oppor-tunity to learn about the Navy its people and its importance to national security and prosperity The Navy plans to in-clude the following elements in the week-long celebration

Harold Edward Hamm 86 of Noblesville passed away on the morning of Wednes-day January 11 2017 at his home He was born on March 21 1930 to William and Kate (McReynolds) Hamm in Inman Vir-ginia

Harold was a 22-year veteran of the United States Air Force where he was also a member of the Sargeantrsquos Club He served as past commander of Frank E Huntzinger IN Post 45 of the No-blesville American Legion and was the groundskeeper supervi-sor for Fox Prairie Golf Course Harold then worked in mainte-nance for University Hospital in Gainesville FL before moving back to Noblesville to be closer to his family He enjoyed fishing hunting and family gatherings

Harold is survived by his sisters Carolyn Sue (Allen) Riley and Betty Salley broth-ers Don (Sue) Hamm Les (Beverly) Hamm and Bob (Avis) Hamm as well as several nieces amp nephews

Harold Edward Hamm 86 of Noblesville passed away on the morning of Wednes-day January 11 2017 at his home He was born on March 21 1930 to William and Kate (McReynolds) Hamm in Inman Vir-ginia

Harold was a 22-year veteran of the United States Air Force where he was also a member of the Sargeantrsquos Club He served as past commander of Frank E Huntzinger IN Post 45 of the No-blesville American Legion and was the groundskeeper supervi-sor for Fox Prairie Golf Course Harold then worked in mainte-nance for University Hospital in Gainesville FL before moving back to Noblesville to be closer to his family He enjoyed fishing hunting and family gatherings

Harold is survived by his sisters Carolyn Sue (Allen) Riley and Betty Salley broth-ers Don (Sue) Hamm Les (Beverly) Hamm and Bob (Avis) Hamm as well as several nieces amp nephews

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Olive Hamm in 2015 brothers Gary Hamm Richard Allen Hamm William Hamm and Bonham Hamm sisters Margie Story and Lorraine Lindsey

basketball doubleheader at Noblesvilleturned into a sweep for visiting Zionsville

First up was the girls game where theClass 4A No 4 Eagles beat the Millers75-62 The boys game was next andZionsville took control in the second half todefeat Noblesville 58-39

The Miller girls played tough with theEagles in the first half with Emily Kiser andMaddie Knight making 3-pointers Kiserwound up with 10 points in the first quarterhelping Noblesville to a 17-14 lead late inthe period

But Zionsville finished the quarter on a6-0 run to lead 20-17 and pushed thatadvantage to 31-22 early in the secondperiod The Millers scored six unansweredpoints to cut the lead to 31-28 with BrookeHerron making a pair of foul shots andKailyn Mertens scoring a basket

Rebounding was the difference in thegame said Noblesville coach DonnaBuckley Theyre so long and athletic andthey dominated the boards and we gavethem too many second chanceopportunities

A three-point play by Kiser putNoblesville within 33-31 with 232remaining in the half but Zionsville wouldeventually jump ahead 40-33 by halftimeThe Eagles pushed their lead to 45-33 earlyin the third period and would remain aheadby around that margin for the second half

Kiser scored 21 points with MalloryJohnson and Knight both adding 12 Kiserhad five rebounds and two blocked shotswith Brooke Herron handing out five assists

BOYS GAMEThe Miller boys got out to a great start

against Zionsville leading 13-6 midwaythrough the first quarter Max Flinchum hittwo 3-pointers and Corby Mertens scoredfive points

The Eagles worked their way back towithin 13-11 by the end of the period butNoblesville got a couple steals that led tobaskets which kept them ahead 17-13 earlyin the second Grant Gremel scored off atakeaway by McGwire Plumer and RicoDuncan took his own steal to the basket

Zionsville jumped ahead 21-19 late inthe quarter before Flinchum converted a rarefour-point play - he was fouled whilemaking a 3-pointer then made thesubsequent free throw That gave the Millersa 23-21 lead that would stand going intohalftime

First half we accomplished some of ourobjectives offensively said Millers coachBrian McCauley Those objectives weregetting the ball where Noblesville wanted itand making shots - the Millers were 9-of-17from the field in the first half

The Eagles opened the second half byscoring nine unanswered points to lead30-23 Zionsville allowed Noblesville justsix points in the third quarter and after RyanBarnes ended their first run with a pair offoul shots the Eagles scored six more pointsbefore Mertens and Duncan closed theperiod with baskets

Duncan opened the fourth quarter witha 3 and that put the Millers within 36-32But Zionsville closed the game on a 22-7run including an 11-of-12 effort from thefree throw line Meanwhile the Eagles onlyallowed Noblesville four trips to the line inthe entire game the Millers were 3-of-4

We tried to do it individually and itreally exposed us said McCauley Quickshots no offensive rebounding and that ledto easy baskets for Zionsville They reallyout-executed us and out-teamed us in thesecond half

Flinchum led the Millers with 10 pointsincluding three 3-pointers Mertens pulledthree rebounds while Plumer handed outfour assists

Noblesvilles boys (5-7) are back inaction tonight traveling to Fort WayneNorthrop for a 730 pm game The Millergirls (11-8) are off until Thursday whenthey head to Heritage Christian to take onthe defending Class 3A state champion

lead Broad Ripple trailed the entire firsthalf However they cut the deficit by half-time to six points trailing GC 34-28

Zionsville jumped ahead 21-19 late inthe quarter before Flinchum converted a rarefour-point play - he was fouled whilemaking a 3-pointer then made thesubsequent free throw That gave the Millersa 23-21 lead that would stand going intohalftime

First half we accomplished some of ourobjectives offensively said Millers coachBrian McCauley Those objectives weregetting the ball where Noblesville wanted itand making shots - the Millers were 9-of-17from the field in the first half

The Eagles opened the second half byscoring nine unanswered points to lead30-23 Zionsville allowed Noblesville justsix points in the third quarter and after RyanBarnes ended their first run with a pair offoul shots the Eagles scored six more pointsbefore Mertens and Duncan closed theperiod with baskets

Duncan opened the fourth quarter witha 3 and that put the Millers within 36-32But Zionsville closed the game on a 22-7run including an 11-of-12 effort from thefree throw line Meanwhile the Eagles onlyallowed Noblesville four trips to the line inthe entire game the Millers were 3-of-4
