From the rhythms of Cuba to the romantic sounds of Spain, Music Director David Danzmayr opens the season in grand style. Italian virtuoso Aniello Desiderio joins ProMusica performing two gems of the classical guitar repertoire, and the evening closes with Beethoven’s joyful masterwork, Pastoral Symphony.

Schubert’s delightful Symphony No. 6 is paired with the Ohio premiere of American composer Gabriela Lena Frank’s “Five Dances” for a quintessential ProMusica blend of old and new. Saint-Saëns’ whimsical Carnival of the Animals concludes the program featuring the imaginative sounds of the orchestra in this most celebrated work.

ProMusica musicians Ellen Connors, Heather Kufchak, Will Manley, Brett Allen and Cora Kuyvenhoven come together to perform an evening of intimate chamber works.

SCHUBERT’S “TROUT” QUINTETSATURDAY, APRIL 1 | 5:30 PM

ProMusica musicians Katherine McLin, Mary Harris, Marc Moskovitz and John Pellegrino join with guest pianist Andrew Campbell to perform works from the Classical and Romantic eras, including Schubert’s most beloved quintet, “The Trout”.

ProMusica, The Lancaster Chorale and guest vocalists come together to celebrate the season with Saint-Saëns’ sublime Christmas Oratorio. The evening opens with Vaughan Williams’ moving work Five Variants of “Dives and Lazarus” and culminates with highlights from Handel’s legendary work, Messiah.

Praised for her vivid tone, rising star violinist Alexandra Conunova makes her U.S. debut performing Sibelius’ expressive Violin Concerto. The evening opens with Webern’s beautiful orchestration of Schubert’s German Dances, and closes with works by the great composers of the Romantic era—Grieg’s Elegiac Melody, and Mendelssohn’s powerful Reformation Symphony.

ProMusica’s “Composer/Performer” project features the orchestra’s 64th commission as we welcome the return of pianist and composer Lera Auerbach. Concertmaster Katherine McLin joins as soloist for this world premiere performance. Our Schubert Cycle continues with the sketches of his Symphony No. 10, completed by renowned orchestrator Brian Newbould.

Join the orchestra and community members for a beloved holiday tradition! Raise your voice in song with friends, families and church choirs, and sing selections from Handel’s Messiah. Orchestra students and area music directors join ProMusica musicians on stage for this joyful community event.

Witness two masters, Vadim Gluzman and Philippe Quint, challenge one another in an evening of dueling violins. ProMusica musicians join these two virtuosos onstage for an epic battle of strings, suites and scherzos—showcasing the stunning artistry and versatility of these world-class musicians. Beginning with a pre-concert reception in the historic ballroom of The Westin, mix and mingle with friends and then head to the Southern Theatre for a collaborative concert featuring ProMusica.

The ProMusica Summer Series will be held on the beautiful grounds of The Topiary Park, located at Town Street and Washington Avenue, right in the backyard of the Columbus Metropolitan Main Library. Parking is available in multiple surface lots and garages adjacent to the park.

Single tickets are also available at the venue two hours before a Southern Theatre performance and one-and-a-half hours before a Worthington United Methodist Church performance.

All sales are final. Programs and performers are subject to change. Orders received within one week of a performance will not be mailed but will be available for pick up at the venue Will Call the day of the performance.
