Half year report from July to December 2012

School began on June 28, 2012 and since we have been focusing on achieving overall academic excellence and establishing a synthesis between the real world and the academic syllabus. We at the school are trying and testing new methods and ways to explore the world of endless possibilities that can enrich the students and help them define themselves in a better way.

This year 14 students were selected for State level sports tournament for various events , one boy Jagdish Kudyeti made it to the National level and fared well at the tournament but could not succeed at the national level.

We had gone for a small trip by the river side; prepared an egg dish the children were very happy as we serve only vegetarian food in the school mess. The trip was just to create happiness and fun. All 600 students were present for the trip.

One bright student form our school Ms. Sagar Madavi who comes from the tribal family got admitted for Agricultural Engineering at a renowned University viz. Rahuri Krushi Vidyapeeth, making all of us proud and happy. There are quite a few students who are studying at various competitive universities. Colleges and we are very glad that they could make it up to there.

For the next academic year we are going to start Multi-Lingual Education Program for the Balwadi-Nursery children; i.e. education using their mother tongue for the first two years and then introducing the state language gradually.

This year we have decided to improve library facility at our school and inculcate reading habits in our children. We bought some books form good publishing houses and got some form friends and well-wishers, collected around 1500 books for exclusively for school kids and plan to utilise them at the optimum.

23rd December to 26th December is the annual celebration of our school. This was celebrated in an unusual way through a scientific fun fare. All the students participated with zeal and enthusiasm. The idea was that the students will exhibit their skills and knowledge before their parents who are illiterate and ignorant making them proud of their children. All the students had done some or the other project according to their abilities and age.

Our aim for the next semester is to encourage our school girls to pursue good professions and dream to cross the geographical and cultural barriers.

Along with all these efforts we also provide the students with

3 meals- special attention is given to the dietary nutrition received. Milk - 1 glass full. Uniforms – 2 sets for each student.

Bedding - complete set including warm blankets for winter. Stationary- Complete Study material, Pen, pencil, colours, lots of paper and craft material especially for the lower grades. Sports – all athletic games, badminton, volley-ball, cricket and a modest gymnasium.

The admission for BALWADI started on 1st of May 2012 at 10 am and 50 new tribal students

were admitted to our school. The admission procedure ended by 1 pm as all parents were

anxious to admit their children in our school and had come in large numbers. It gave us

immense pain to say no to the others as we are incapable of admitting a larger number.
