রবীনাথ ঠাকুর ১৯২৫ সালে "শেষবষ ষণ" রচনা করেন। এই গীতিনায অবলরন বাতিে পতেরবশনাে সাোশ এইেকম: শাজপুলরর রাজা, শবােপুলরর কববলেখলরর খযাবির কথা লন, কববলেখর সবি শে গীবিনাযট রচনা কলরবিলেন শসট সদেবলে পবরলবেন করার জলনয ি লক সায় আমণ জাবনলয়বিলেন| বক কববলেখর শেষপেষ আলগাপন কলরন এই শলব শে রাজার গীবিনাযট হয়লিা শিমন ালো গলব না, এবং হয়লিা অলহিু ক সমালোচনার সুখীন হলি হলব। অগিযা গীবিনালযর বনলদষেক (নরাজ), মুখয গাবয়কা (নাযাচােষযা) এবং দলের অনযানয গায়ক-গাবয়কালদর সালথ বনলয় রাজদরবালর আলসন। এবদলক, এইসব ঘনা-বালহর মলযরাজার সাকব(রাজকব) আগালগাড়া শবায করবিলেন, শকননা অনয রালজযর অনয এক কববলক ি সামলনই শববে সমাদর করা হলে। শসইজলনয শবাযহয়, থম শথলক শেষ অববয বিবন গীবিনাযটর রচনা পবরলবেনা বনলয় নানান বপ মবয করলিই থালকন। এমনবক অনুানটর একদম শেলষ রাজা খন রীবিমলিা েংষামুখর, িখন রাজকববলে ওলঠন, ‘আরও অলনক ালো হলি পারলিা’| বষ ার বসার, বষ ার শির শথলক রৎ-এর আকাে, এবং সবলেলষ অপসৃয়মান রৎ এই বনলয়ই িময় এই কাবয| যতিও সময়া শেৎকাল, কাতিনীে ব ষ াে সগীি তিরয় – 'বকননা, ব ষ া-বক না জানরল শেৎ-বক বেনা যায় না’। ব ষ া - সজল, তবেি-তবিুে, আনমনা। কতব বােবাে মরন কতেরয় বিন ব ষ ারশরে সুরেরিই লুতকরয় আরে শেৎ। ফুরলে সুগরে, বারেে িউঁতকে মরিয তিরয় শেৎ বয িাে আগমন জানান বিয়। োজামশাইরয়ে ব ষ াে গান একসময় এরিা ারলা বলরগ যায়, বয উতন োন বকবল ব ষ াে গানই েলরি থাকুক। তক, গীতিনায িাে তনজ বাঁ িা পরথই এরগারি থারক, বযমন ারব কতবরশখে েেনা করেরেন। অবরশরয, িালকা বমরেে আনারগানা, েন গীে নীল আকাশ আে তশউতল ফুরলে োতশে মরিয তিরয় েতিরয় পরি শেরিে খুতশে আরমজ | তক, তশউতল বয বরিা ণায়ী। িাো অরমাোরব িাতেরয় যায় বারেে কুয়াশাে মরিয। িাই শেৎ-এে পালা িরয় আরস বশ। ঋিু চর মলিাই আমালদর জীবন ণহায়ী। িবুও, জীবন জুলড় শিলয় আলি অলনক আো, অলনক ি ালণর মলযবনবহি আলি আরও ালণর আকাা। এই কাবহনীর শেষ শসই বচরন আোর মলযবদলয় শেষ বষ ষণ "Shesh Barshan" was composed by Rabindranath Tagore in 1925. A summary of Bodhi's adaptation of this musical drama is as follows. The King of Bhojpur has heard about the famous Poet-Laureate (Kabishekhar) of the state of Bolpur and invited him along with his troupe of performers to the royal court, to perform the musical drama Kabishekhar had recently written and composed. However, Kabishekhar runs away, fearing that the King may not like his creation and he may have to face harsh criticism. So, it is the director (Natraj) of the drama along with his singers (Natyacharya, Gayak-Gayika) who are presenting the musical drama. Through all these, the resident poet of the royal court (Rajkabi) is unhappy because a poet from another state has been given the limelight in his presence. He continuously tries to cast aspersions on the quality of the composition until the end. Even at the end, when the King heaves praise, he quips, "could have been much better". The plot of the musical drama is a portrayal of the rainy season, the transition of the rainy season into autumn, and the end of autumn, through poetry set to appropriate seasonal ragas. Although the musical is performed during the season of autumn, it starts with songs of the rains. The monsoon is presented through the pathos of the lovelorn. The poet repeatedly draws attention to indications of autumn, how these are always present near the end of monsoon – in fragrant flowers or in swift glances of the morning star. In the middle, the King likes the monsoon songs so much that he asks the director to linger awhile on them. Nonetheless, the drama continues in the path laid out by the poet. The onset of autumn is portrayed by joyous tunes describing white fleeting clouds in the deep blue sky and the bloom of the Shiuli (Harshringar) flowers, even though short-lived. The end of autumn is presented through the appearance of the morning dew, and the fading away of the Shiuli. The musical closes with the observation that seasons and life, after all, are ephemeral. Bodhi was formed in 2014, as a group representing IIT Kanpur at the concert Echoes of
Gitanjali, featuring 1000 voices from various parts of the country singing
Rabindrasangeet in unison (Hazaar Kanthe Rabindrasangeet). The concert was held in
2015, at Netaji Indoor Stadium, Kolkata, and was telecast live on national television.
Bodhi members have continued to meet since, and more have joined the original group,
there being around 25 members now. A regular weekly 'adda' is held, when the
members do basic vocal riyaaz, learn and practise songs composed by Rabindranath
Tagore. The major goal is to explore the expanse and depth of Tagore's compositions,
and also to familiarize the IITK community with his work.
