Try a Trade Job Fair

On Wednesday 11 November students in Years 9, 10 and 11 had the opportunity to go to Orange for the Try a

Trade Job Fair.

There were many exhibitors showcasing a wide range of careers. The students were able to spend time asking

questions about how to get into that field of work and what is actually involved on a day to day basis.

There were opportunities for the students to test

their skills with a Virtual Reality Welding game and

also testing their strength at the Laser Plumbing

stand to bend copper pipes. They were able to test

their hairdressing skills and see how the mining

industry extracts metals and minerals.

The students had a fantastic day and we thank Mr

Peasley for organising this opportunity for them.

Future Kindergarten

students joined K12

during a digital

technology lesson as

part of their visit on

Friday.

Using coding skills, they input directions for the blue

bots to get from one point to another on a mat.

They had lots of fun.

Miss Amanda Crain

Our Year 12 students have finished the HSC examinations. I thank Bronwyn Johnson as the Presiding Officer who

ensured all students are cared for and the process remained secure. I would like to also thank Mr Simon Gellert who

hosted the examinations at the Yeoval and District Baptist Church. Mrs Angela Bruce our Business Manager

coordinated the examinations for our students.

We were involved in a lovely Remembrance Day service at the Yeoval Memorial Hall, coordinated by Mr Glen

Brown. Well done to Bradley Fuller who read a moving speech about the war. I would like to thank Ms Sandra

Karcher who coordinated our school to attend.

Our students were involved in several extra-curricula activities last week. I would like to thank the following staff

who either coordinated or attended to support our students:

• Inclusive Schools Sport: Mrs Alana Kerin, Mrs Charmaine Miller and Mr Bradly Baker

• Years 9-11 Jobs Fair and Try-a-Trade: Mr Keith Peasley, Ms Natasha Freeth, Ms Jodie Fost and Mrs Katrina

Corinth

Parents and carers have been sent a Zoom link for the P&C meeting tonight at 6pm. Our primary staff will be

showcasing ‘H20’ which is our new primary class model for 2021. I will also be discussing our options for

Presentation Night ensuring that we are abiding by the COVID-19 guidelines and our draft school plan for 2021-

2024. I would love to see you there!
