To visit Wrocław is rather like steppingback in time, and yet the atmosphere ispure cosmopolitan. The city is one of theoldest in Poland, and can trace its historyright back to the 7th century whendwellers made Otrów Tumski (Cathedralisland) their home. The area is still thecentre of activity today.

Residents and visitors alike eat in bistrostyle restaurants, shop for designer clothesor visit theatre or philharmonic venues.Music is important to Wrocław, and it ishome to more than 50 internationallyacclaimed orchestras, choirs or musicalsocieties.
