••• CRASE Training Has Been Rescheduled Tuesday, April 24 6-8:30 p.m. SanctuaryCRASE is an acronym for Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events. This is the subject matter of the training/guideddiscussion previously planned for March 27 and which has been rescheduled for Tuesday, April 24. The session will be led byOfficer Josh Visi of the Austin Police Department.

Also, there is a more specific training event on Tuesday, April 3, at Fellowship Church in Kyle. That training will be conducted by a group known as Sheepdog Seminars, and their presentation will focus on the security and protection for faith-based organizations (churches). Look for the “AustinTexas” graphic among the other seminar location graphics and click; all the info you need to reserve a spot is available. Cost is $25.

And finally, the Austin Fire Department has a training class that they will teach on 1) first aid, 2) using an AED defibrillator, and 3) cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Class size is limited to 15, and Oak Hill UMC will pick up the cost (if you desire, you can make a $25 donation to cover the expense of your attendance and it will be noted on your pledge giving statement).
