500 Hours of Sharing is about calling each of us to be intentional about saying yes to Easter – to Jesus’ call for us to love God and love our neighbor. Our goal is to reach 500 hours of sharing our love in 40 days!

For more information: www.oakhillumc.org/sharing.

An Opportunity: Love Through Hammers and Paint BrushEaster Sunday is April 1. How will you say yes to the greatest gift ever received? The first week after Easter a team from Oak Hill UMC will help an elderly Austin neighbor stay in her home by making repairs and painting her home. Oak Hill UMC has partnered with interfaith Action of Central Texas (iACT) for several years now, participating in the group’s Hands on Housing project each spring and fall. Bring your skills, your willingness to learn a new skill, or your handy helper attitude and show some love to a neighbor in East Austin. Join the team April 5, 6, and 7. Come for a few hours or all three days. Look for Wally Vog and a sign-up sheet in the courtyard on Sunday, March 25!

Trustees Corner Spring Workday AccomplishmentsAbout 30 volunteers turned out to work on some improvement projects to our church grounds on March 17. These included:

• Planting small plants in the bed bordering the front of the Main Building. Soaker irrigation hoses were also installed.• Prepping and repainting the stairs, decking, and ramps in front of the Missions and Hejtmanek Buildings. Two weeks ago the Boy

Scouts of Troop 505 had replaced a significant amount of rotten wood on that decking.• Treating weeds and adding mulch to the labyrinth, plus straightening some of the stones.• Clearing out weeds and leaves from beds around the Children’s Building.• Cutting and removing brush in the vicinity of the Children’s Building.• Cleanup of planting beds and adding flowers in the central (community garden) area.• Repair of gates on the dumpster enclosure.• Relocating brush piles out back (east side) to facilitate road access to the detention pond and removal of hackberry tree stump at

entrance. (Special thanks to Art Barkis and his “mini-dozer.”)

These projects support our radical hospitality (welcoming) initiative by improving the functionality and appearance of our churchcampus. Thanks to all who participated!
