• 52% of the population in Latin America is connected to the Internet representing a great potential of

growth in e-commerce(1)

• e-Commerce in Mexico, Brazil and Argentina will continue to grow at a rate of 20% year-on-year until

• With 42% total share, Brazil is the strongest cross-border consumer market in Latin America. Sales are

projected to grow at a CAGR of 13.6% until 2018. 50% of Mexican consumers shop from overseas

Ricardo is a Methods of Payment’s industry expert with over 30 years of experience working with the principal payment brands -both mainstreamand alternative, as well as with Issuers, Acquirers, Merchants, and processors. As Director of Global Payments at Netflix, Inc., Ricardo wasresponsible for the assessment, development, and implementation of payment strategies that successfully supported Netflix’s global expansion.Under Ricardo’s expert direction, Netflix’s growth in Latin America exceeded 5 million subscribers in less than 3 years. Ricardo was Vice Presidentfor e-Commerce at MasterCard and Senior Vice President of Emerging Technologies at Visa. He also was one of the founding executivesand Executive Director of Business Development of former Visanet do Brasil (now Cielo), the largest acquirer in Latin America and one ofthe largest in the world, as well as the first General Manager of Visanet del Peru. Ricardo worked for several years with Citibank, both as an ITprofessional and as the Head of Operations for their Latin America and Caribbean Card Services Division. His wide ranging experience andexpertise in all aspects of the payment methods industry makes him a well-rounded adviser and keynote speaker, and provides him with extensiveexecutive management background in international, multi-cultural business environments. Throughout his career, Ricardo repeatedly producedsustainable revenue growth by implementing innovative ideas, turning around distressed organizations, and effectively managing high-performanceteams. He also was co-founder, chairperson and member of the Board of Directors of Back on Track Network, a non-profit organizationbased in Miami, FL.
