A celebration of classic stories, Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia returns with the adaptations of two stories by Margaret Wise Brown. Goodnight Moon is a celebration of familiar nighttime rituals, while The Runaway Bunny’s pretend tale of leaving home evokes reassuring responses from his loving mother. Both stories offer innovative puppetry, dream-like imagery, striking scenic effects and original music.
Making science fun and exciting, students will discover how magicians use science to create the impossible and how to think “outside the box.” Illusionist Bill Blagg takes students on a rare “behind the scenes” journey using the Scientific Method to levitate a teacher as well as show how the science of reflection can make homework disappear! Bill melts through a solid sheet of steel while explaining atoms and molecules and presents an incredible display of the water cycle by making it snow from his bare hands!
Sophie is snatched from her orphanage by the 15’ tall vegetarian BFG (Big Friendly Giant) and taken to an enchanted land. Fearing the worst, she soon realizes the BFG isn’t a monster but gives magical dreams to children. Together their quest for dreams is under attack by wicked giants who want to eat “human beans,” especially children! This epic adventure from the famous children’s author, Roald Dahl, is complete with jumbled words and large on laughs, showing that heroes can come in all sizes.

Based on The Miracle Worker, Thodos Dance Chicago tells the inspirational story of Helen Keller and Anne Sullivan through contemporary dance to bring awareness of those living with disabilities. This one-act story ballet tells about the extraordinary Helen Keller who was deaf and blind, yet went on to become a world-famous writer and political activist. The inspiration for Helen is her teacher Anne Sullivan, who led Helen into a world of education, activism and intellectual celebrity.
As seen on PBS, this musical celebrates the rich culture of South Africa blending the raw energy, spirit and passion into a global performance. Journey through Africa’s history, culture and spirit. Best friends and opposites Elephant Gerald and Piggie find themselves on a musical adventure in this adaptation of Mo Willems’ award-winning Elephant & Piggie books.
