IN THE NEWS
If y'all are listeners of the radioshow and podcast The SplendidTable, you may have heardmention recently of Paul QuinnCollege near Dallas, whichseveral years ago converted itsfootball field to a farm, thuscreating an oasis of organicproduce in a previous fooddesert. So inspirational! Readmore about We Over Me Farmhere.
Another farming story that mademe smile was about Swale, NewYork City's new "floating gardenpark", housed on a barge, whichallows visitors to pick produce forfree. It's illegal to grow fruits andvegetable in NYC parks, soSwale fills this gap nicely. Learnmore here.
Lastly, the BBC shared thecharming story of FrédériqueSoulard, a woman who noticesand draws attention to all thoseplants that the rest of us tend toignore.
