Ethics Bowl

An Ethics Bowl is both a collaborative and competitive event, where teams of

students analyze and discuss ethical dilemmas. They imagine, criticize, and

compare bold strategies, and may even amend their original positions when faced

with convincing arguments. Students have opportunities to pose and respond to

probing questions, which results in a deepening awareness of the stakes and

principles that animate the discussion.

Boy's hockey helped with the school hamper deliveries and also put together an extremely generous hockey hamper for a Transcona family in need! The boys had the opportunity to wrap the gifts and decorate the hamper. They were very happy and proud to help out and give back to their Community!

FASHION TECHNOLOGY Annual Clothing Swap

The Grade 12 Fashion Entrepreneur students planned and hosted our Annual Clothing Swap once again this year. Staff and students graciously donated gently used articles of clothing, shoes, and accessories which were then sorted into categories and put on display throughout the Fashion Lab. On Tuesday, December 8th 2019, the doors to the Fashion Lab were open to all students and staff to come take any items that caught their eye, free of charge! This was an excellent chance for us to practice sustainable fashion choices, saving many pieces of clothing from ending up in landfills.

Fashion Photo Shoot

Murdoch MacKay Fashion students had the opportunity to collaborate with Kildonan East Photography students on a fashion photo shoot. This shoot celebrated the hard work of fashion students designing and constructing their own garments and showcased the talent of the photographers to capture the moment.

Looking for something fun to do on a cold winter night…..

The Individualized students have been busy with several events!

We hosted family and school staff at our annual Christmas Mingle and Jingle where we served brunch to nearly 60 people. All food served was prepared by Individualized students and staff and we received many compliments on our culinary skills! At this event we collected donations for the Flex Food bank here at Murdoch MacKay.

We also held a silent auction to support Best Buddies activities and it was very successful. Thank you to everyone who bought tickets.

After returning from Christmas break, we began making and serving oatmeal to any hungry member of our school community! We are dishing out 3 full crockpots of oatmeal each morning with a variety of yummy toppings.
