Celebration of 02nd Anniversary of Skill India Mission at Vigyan Bhawan:

World Youth Skill Day celebration:

World Youth Skill Day celebrated on 15th July, 2017 at CIDC, Gorakhpur center. An Awareness program was organized by the trainees and staff of CIDC through a special rally focused on “Skill Development to Improve Youth Employment.” In the rally, CIDC trainees approached to locals to develop awareness and understanding the concept of skill development, its need and benefits to get employment and enhance wage. It also covered a session amongst locals to inform them about opportunities available in skill development especially through CIDC. The world youth Skill day is a day on which unemployed youth are made aware about the objective of skilling with speed, scale and standard across the country.

Comprehensive Fire & Safety Training program:

A Comprehensive fire safety training program of 10 days, one hour per day, was organized from 10th July to 21st July, 2017. The concluding session was organized to practically extinguish different types of fire by using different fire extinguishers on 21st July, 2017 at CIDC, Gorakhpur center. Sh Bhagwat Dayal Ojha, Fire Safety Officer, having more than 10 years’ fire safety experience in Gulf countries conducted the training.

Emergency situation provokes severe fear and reactions that create panic conditions. Fire safety experts believe that knowledge; training and practical experience may develop safety and minimize the losses in case of fire. They also think to tune the behavior and action during the fire. This involves preparing people for how to deal with fire; this will lead to the best method of a safe and methodical evacuation process.

The fire safety programs was very worthy for CIDC trainees as they have learnt the safety, evacuation during fire and extinguish the fire effectively with minimum losses.

CIDC – Activities: Airports Authority of India:

The last leg of the training in different categories under the “Project for Employment Oriented Training and Skill Development Programme for SC/ST/OBC/Women & EWS of Society for 2000 Persons under Airports Authority of India CSR Initiative” is being held at Gorakhpur & Dhalulana (UP), Faridabad (Haryana), Januthar (Rajasthan), Dumka, Ranchi & Chaibasa (Jharkhand), Agartala (Tripura) & Odisha centers.

Over 1852 candidates have enrolled in training so far and those who have successfully completed the course have moved on for jobs with reputed construction companies. Students have also opted for self-employment and some have joined higher education courses.

CIDC is working closely with project organizations to include the compulsory clause on deployment of Tested & Certified construction workers on their sites. While CPWD, MES, many state PWDs, have already incorporated such a clause, there is growing awareness amongst private entities to adopt this best practice.

The AAI project and other similar initiatives are a step in the direction of increasing the supply of trained manpower for the Indian Construction Industry.

The project has rolled out seamlessly and we aim to complete the same within the stipulated time period of 18 months.

We wish all our successful candidates all the best in their new jobs / careers.
